[2H] farewell bulliten

this has been such a wonderful week. i am honored to call you friends. you have all made me laugh, smile and think this week. so much good has come out of this time. remember to stop and smell the roses. sometimes the roses are the point.

i leave you with a little gift. pay attention to the words, for the words are frequently important.

i love you all.

paix et amour,
2h (jane)

Shape of My Heart-Sting

"Shape Of My Heart"

He deals the cards as a meditation
And those he plays never suspect
He doesn't play for the money he wins
He doesn't play for the respect
He deals the cards to find the answer
The sacred geometry of chance
The hidden law of probable outcome
The numbers lead a dance

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart

He may play the jack of diamonds
He may lay the queen of spades
He may conceal a king in his hand
While the memory of it fades

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart
That's not the shape, the shape of my heart

And if I told you that I loved you
You'd maybe think there's something wrong
I'm not a man of too many faces
The mask I wear is one
Those who speak know nothing
And find out to their cost
Like those who curse their luck in too many places
And those who fear are lost

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart
That's not the shape of my heart

According to Sting one of of his DVD's, the song is about a man who is a master card-player but plays to find some divine, almost spiritual meaning to the probabilities of the game. He is so involved in this game that he is almost emotionless, and this affects his relationships aversely.

"And if I told you that I loved you, you'd maybe think there's something wrong..."

He is not a man used to expressing his feelings, but he wants to. However he knows that he is only a man of one "face", which is the "mask" he hides behind, his poker-face, you could say.

Sting = ♥

'stop to smell the roses'

The 'stop to smell the roses" line might be important later down the road, I love how Jane added that in.

I'm struck by the fact that many of these lines could hould have a double meaning in the context of the game. Unvoice gives what Sting meant by the song but a few lines in particular could mean two things.
For in the line
"Those he plays never suspect" Sting obviously is talking about the poker player's opponents at the card table not knowing the reason he plays cards.

However in the context of our game the cards themselves are characters and the lines can be read differently alluding to an unseen hand the plays the deck and the fact the individual cards are as ignorant of their fates or the outcome of the game as we are.
I base this in part on what we've already been told about the dect that lower numbered know less and have less to reveal than those higher up.

Furthermore the line "He deals the cards for the answer could allude to the larger purpose of the game to reveal a deeper meaning as more cards are dealt
Michelle, rambling yet again

I wonder if the PMs are making some kind of statement through 2H with those lyrics.

They seem to hint at a few possible things.

To me, the line that jumped out was:

Quote:
I'm not a man of too many faces
The mask I wear is one

This made the think of Jonah-2C-White Rabbit-...

There are other names I could add but I will keep those to myself for now.

Yes, apparently the spades and the clubs are going to join forces and kill us all. Rolling Eyes
