My only hope is that australians type with an accent, so when they try to spoil it for us we'll just say "Come again mate?"
No offense.

I may be stretching... I don't know if the TIDOWave site was just a reward for solving the hacked Tagruato... but I really wanted to look over the TIDOWave banner because they seem to enjoy hidden pictures...
Some faces?
Exhibit A
The blue zoom may be the hand of the statue of liberty... some allusion?
(I thought it was an Aztec head or something at first...)
EDIT: WHOAAA too big.

I'm in Sydney and already have two options for free tickets to the premiere (1 being from connections at Paramount Australia) so guess I'll just go with the best offer. I'm not planning on posting anything until after at least the US premiere but will be fun to watch the final frenzied day or two on UF before the US premiere with the knowledge gained from having already seen it.
Edit: Oh and Kraker, I find that comment highly offensive!

Oif you brag about finding everything out before everyone else, yes I'll aim to take you down a notch.
It's nothing personal. If it were any other culture I would've said the same thing. If it's offensive, sorry m8, but just s you know, I can understand you guys quite well.
And while you guys won't post spoilers, I'm 99 percent sure someone will (probably from australia)
No offense

We are just lucky enough to be one of the first place to see each day. The dateline really works in our favour sometimes
But this sounds a full extra day earlier, unless the dates have not been corrected, and that is really cool.
I will play nice. Promise.

Do we even have a confirmation that Australia's date is the 17th?
New Zealand is confirmed on that date, but I've seen no first party confirmation of release in Australia on the 17th, even though the release in NZ makes it very likely. I don't know that we've even seen a second party confirmation (like the cinema chains that exhibit the movie). If anyone can find one, please post it here. I'd hate to have us mislead people.

3rd party confirmation: http://www.greaterunion.com.au/movies/comingsoon.asp
May not be gospel truth, but they would look silly if they had to change it.

Technically that's second party, but at any rate it's good enough for a 'soft' verification. It's unlikely that they'd post information not sent to them by Paramount, and Paramount isn't likely to ask them to change at this late date.
Thanks!

LOLZ at technically. Couldn't help yourself?
Edit: just for clarity, what is 1st party, 2nd party, and 3rd party? Technically. You know. Really.

Despite the pulling of my chain, I'm sure it would help some people understand several important things about ARGs and these references to movies to know the difference...
First party (1st party) is what the entity themselves do. This means when Paramount posts information saying "this is the release date". Everything we find on the official sites IG is first party.
Second party (2nd party) is done by another entity for or as an agent of the first party. The cinema companies that exhibit movies fall into this category. Important to note is that in business, second parties have obligations to first parties, and vice versa. Anything outsourced is second party. If MySpace is cooperating with Paramount and Bad Robot in the viral campaign, they are second party.
Third party (3rd party) is something done by a seperate entity, bearing only a relationship to the first or second parties, but with no obligations between the parties. When we organize groups to go see Cloverfield, we are acting as a third party. This website and all the other fansites are third party. If Photobucket or Menuism do not have any special agreement with Paramount, they are third party.
If a movie enthusiast site declared an opening date without citing sources from Paramount or a cinema chain, they are acting as a third party. That's what IMDB's list of release dates is. People take IMDB as if it was first party, but as you can understand now - they're nowhere near that.
