[QUESTION] IMDB User
Has "JJ" been here dropping clues...?

I have been frequenting the Imdb boards. Last Tues. a user calling himself JJ Abrams started a new thread, dropped some interesting clues and then deleted it all after 10 minutes or so.
I think I got some interesting stuff out of it, but my question is...
Does this sound IG or OOG.
In light of the new website and the timing I wanted to bring it up.
I will gladly share what "he" posted if you think it is relevant.

FYI I am new, yes I have read all the read first topics, couldn't find anything related to this. Just here to have fun and try to figure this all out.

Edit:

This what he posted (as best as I can remember)

Find the barge

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/bubhui/PARAMOUNTRIGHTSRESERVED.jpg

the answer is on the barge

tecnbznheoi

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/bubhui/PARAMOUNTRIGHTSRESERVED-1.gif

disurb something in the deep

Drilling will bring disturbance
Disturbance will bring change
change will evoke fear
fear will evoke change

Shortly after "he" deleted his thread that poem showed up on several others

Let me know what you think, find

Post away my friend. Worst that can happen is it is proven incorrect. Best that can happen is that it enriches the experience.

Heh, interesting.

I went to see if the photobucket album was public, and I found this url from my browser history:

I think it was from some fanart contest on imdb or something, same photobucket user.

Are those last two links meant to be something with 'Try unscramble' written on? They're both the same image I think.

those are the exact links from my history

Another Imdb user hinted that was only to lead to unscramble
tecnbznheoi

If I remember correctly the link was posted twice

One of them is Benthic zone, which is where the seabed's nectar comes from.

edit: oh you got that one Laughing

Anyway, either JJ abrams drew that monster, or that wasn't him posting those clues.

What do you think was meant by 'the answer is on the barge'? I've looked at the photo, but can't make out the name of the barge, or whatever is stenciled on it - DALLAS? CALLAD?

Do you have any thoughts on the significance of that barge picture?

I sincerely hope that JJ has more constructive things to do, such as working on the movie itself.

Giving us clues for something that doesn't even need clues wouldn't make a whole heaping lot of sense. I mean, what, we don't know there's a giant monster in the movie? There's no game here, so why bother with the chicanery?

I believe there are alot of people working on the viral marketing aspect of this film. I don't believe it was actually JJ.

reason for producers dropping clues

Just observations:

Through july, august, september, there were long stretches with not much new discovered on the game. People were talking about the mystery blowing up faster than JJ anticipated, and how it might mess up there schedule.

I believe we could be on the flip side of that now. They obviously have a backstory script they want to get out, complete with robust websites, clues mailed in packages, etc. However time is running out. We are approaching 1-18-08 at light speed, and the puppet masters can't afford to wait long for fans to figure out the last clue, such as the Tagruato hack. If we don't 'get it' quick enough, they may have a phased plan for how to drop a hint here and there, at each key point.

They've obviously put some thought into this whole campaign, and can't afford to let a mental block on our part screw it up.

Anyone else notice the dark little smudge in the top left sky on the barge picture?

It's probabley nothing, but seemed odd.

I seriously doubt that J.J. would post a clue on imdb. However, I'm not saying this is totally irrelevant. It could definitely have been someone working on the campaign. It does make sense that they would give us bits of information if we aren't getting it fast enough.

btw, I see that dark spot too. Meteor is my best guess.
