[SPEC]Doubles everywhere not just in cheese mitten and hammer Maybe these where just clues to make us look for other things that are doubles.
Double -- on explorer bar of 1-18-08.com
Double "" when you mouse over the poster on apple.com
Even the title has two 0's two 1's and two 8's and two dashes
If I remember right isnt there two roars in the trailer? (at work or I would check)
Can anyone think of any other doubles we have seen? or maybe anything we have seen twice?
PS. Tried searching, didnt come up with much on this.

I can't resist adding the double "1"s and the double "8"s .

There were three roars in the trailer, however...
When we were discussing the roar that was added to the main page, it was pretty obvious there were multiple voices making it. It may have just been sound design of course, but I think it may've clued us in to multiple heads...or just 2... The "doubles" could also be pointing us in that direction.

Another possible reference to "doubles" is the Kylie Minogue video on Beth's myspace page.

Going out on a stretch, although I guess it never hurts to try anything.
This whole thing about double letters and double pairs of characters seriously reminded me of something I saw a long time ago...
Genetics.
Specifically, cross-breeding, and the architecture of genotypes.

It's probably not related, but this is the biggest thing that stood out, that's related, when you're talking about evil monsters and repeating letters.
Make of this as you will

Everything we've seen distinctly and clearly doubled is closely paired. I think many of the other duplications are more likely incidental. What comes to my mind that are closely paired and absolutely identical are twins, and genes.
Where that'd lead, I don't know. Gene pairs are supposed to be identical, the exception in at least humans being in the male with the XY pair.
Is the monster female?

So if you'd hybrid chEEse and miTTens together, you get...
miEETTse?
Or... a very messy article of clothing.
You know, and while we're at this, the slusho site HAS a page where you can 'splice' 6 'flavours' together....

Not to mention the similarities of the two girls posted on the first 1-18-08.com picture.

cross breeding = Hybrid

Haha! Good call.
I had mentioned something about the cross breeding (hybrid) in another post but was shot down.
The "mule" on the Slusho history page made me think of the breeding of two different animals. If you wiki the word mule it tells you that: The term "mule" (Latin mulus) was formerly applied to the offspring of any two creatures of different species - in modern usage, a "hybrid".
But I was told the mule is actually a donky according to the filename of the animation on the site.

Yes, but the flash decompile also labelled two little girls ("girl1" and "girl2", IIRC), instead of a boy and a girl at Slusho.jp, so I wouldn't necessarily rule something out that's really close like donkey and mule.

Punnet So the genetics thing may be a bit of a strech... but even the word puNNet looks a little firmiliar now that I think about it... so Im most likely gonna spend my morning putting words like mitten and cheese into elaborate punnet squares... good thing Im at work!
Even weirder, while I was typing this I was thinking about the three letters M E T from hammer cheese and mitten... and suddenly I had a flash back to highschool biology. MET is short for methionine which is a key amino acid and a allele in some cases. If you google MetMet you get alot of stuff about gene sequences and things like that.... some things are becoming almost more than coincidental now... at least I hope
