68: You contemplate flying across country to retreive a package from an in-game character, only to realize that you can't because you have to drive several hours to go to a concert to retreive an item for another in-game character.
69: You become insanely jealous of the person who has the above problem.

70. You start placing trails in your own personal website for your real life friends to find. Knowingly they will never find them unless you tell them and when you do tell them they need it explaining to them again again why you have done it.
71. You subject yourself to interviews hoping you can convince crossword fanatics that ARG's are an alternative to their latest 'Puzzler Collection'.
72. You realise it was an ARG you got yourself into two years ago and you were a fool for ignoring the emails and blocking IM's that kept appearing at random times.

This is so true. ... especially the explaining again and again ... and again.

yeah, very, very true. "This thing isn't working! I just get a blank page!" "Well, did you read those 10 Commandments of ARGs I linked? And then did you notice that the title of the page is '1st Commandment'"? "I don't get it..."
71. You wrote an article about ARGs for your school paper and put secret messages in at the end, including ASCII code for "If you get this, I will buy you a coke". So far, you don't owe anyone a coke.
72. You went out and spent money you don't have on a copy of Logan's Run on DVD because you haven't seen it in forever and you can't get the VHS from the library because obviously there is something hidden in the commentary on the DVD. And you did this to play on ARG based on a B-grade cult sci-fi film from the 70's.

I'm starting to see why they're called "ARGs"... it's not because it's short for "Alternate Reality Game". It's because that's the phrase you continually want to yell while playing them.

72.5 - You set your VCR a week in advance to tape the TCM showing of Logan's Run at 11:15p (because you know you won't be able to stay away, and you want to be able to freeze-frame and rewind).
June 22, 11:15p PST. Turner Classic Movie channel.

73. You have dreams about really cool games launching.
74. You go to regular puzzle stores and try to solve different kinds of those metal puzzles and fit-all-these-weird-blocks-together puzzles, hoping it means you'll do better in the next ARG (or just as an ARG-er ego thing).

76. While visiting your favorite restaurant, you spend atleast 20 minutes trying to figure out how to turn the decorative plate that the waitress has so generously placed in front of you into a puzzle.

77. You find yourself disappointed when the "Where is my Gnome" ads in newspapers and the blog turn out to be an ad campaign, and they don't turn it into a kick-A** ARG.

78. You wish you had the skills and the money to create a series of web-pages, bulletin-boards, walk-through games and so on. Of course you have the specs since long written in your ARG-ideas booklet.
