It is a known fact that movies are given test screenings, I think it would be damn near impossible for someone to not have seen it by now.

Even with an NDA, someone will anonymously hint or post at something. This was the case with Apple's Leopard. Screenshots were posted all over the place although most of them were promptly taken down.

The other thing that is true of test screenings, is that often times parts are changed afterwards. Also, there are MANY trailers that are not consistent or even have parts from them not in the final movie AT ALL. Escape from New York anyone? (The scene of Snake running through a subway which was filmed in Peachtree Center Station in Atlanta - which at one time had the World's tallest escalator - was not in the theatrical version and was only released many years later in the Director's Cut). That is one of MANY examples.

I believe this may be true. I also believe the final product will have changes as that is what test screenings are for. Actors are usually required in-contract to be available during the time period afterwards for reshooting if necessary.

If I spend any more time with this 'review' it'll be to start referencing continuity errors like the flaws in wardrobe change between scenes we know are in the trailer and publicity photos (which agree with each other) and are pretty certainly the scenes as they will appear in the final print. They wouldn't reshoot nearly the whole movie to correct wardrobe continuity failures like that. One small example of this continuity issue is Rob wearing his suit jacket in the bodega, when he had shed it and given it to Lily sometime during the walk in the subway tunnels. If we are to believe this 'review' he's emerged from the subway and gone into the bodega and his jacket suddenly reappears on. Oh, and Marlena exploded in the previous scene but somehow is with them in the subway tunnel when they run...

Skepticism causes people to check facts, and either confirms the truth or exposes the lie. By being the skeptic, I can help sort out truth from lie and allow us to move forward in this whole endeavor. If you don't like it, tough.

Soci, have the balls to insult me yourself, instead of sucking up to the others that do.

How could someone post an entire account of a movie, leave so many holes in what he said, and copy down every piece of dialogue in the movie?

I'm sorry, but.....

umm first of all sweetie, I just thought it was funny because you do always point out every little thing, when most people just come and say, "well alrighty then" and keep it moving... and trust me, if I wanted to insult you, you'd know it and so would everyone else. I don't need to suck up to anyone.. TRUST

ETA: I have my own questions about the review, but I'm not about to sit here and interrogate someone...

Please point me to the post where he copied down every single piece of dialogue in the movie. I must've missed that. Whenever I see a movie, I always remember a few lines that jumped out to me. His reproduction of the dialogue, which he forewarned he was paraphrasing, looks like the same thing. Or are we going to pretend that certain lines from a movie don't get stuck in our heads?

I think the most ridiculous aspect of this whole review is the humor that this person says exists throughout the movie. I don't believe HUD would make witty one-liners when friends are dying all around him and a gigantic monster is destroying everything.

though I think the description of the monster is neat, regardless of its legitimacy.

A humanoid monster would be pretty cool. As for the one liners... I dunno. "Saw" was supposed to be OMGZ TEH GRUSOMEZ!!! and one of those idiots made a joke about not finding any solid bowel movements in a toilet. Stupid one liners like that always kill the mood, but unfortunately they're common.

my input is that they don't want people to be so overwhelmed with the action. I recently saw Blood Diamond and that movie was so depressing i couldn't even make it all the through it was so dry and dark it had me exhausted. Humor in a movie gives us that chance to breathe. I don't doubt there will be some amount of humor.

***EDIT*** I also doubt that this movie will take itself so serious that it cant make a joke or two. The It's Alive quotes i feel are homages, as people have mentioned.

thewhistleblower writes the worst review ever. Waste 15 minutes of my life reading that crap. So many holes it would put a swiss cheese slice to shame. The person who spoiled the ending of 'The Mist' for me wrote better than you.

Why the hell would Mr Grumpypanties have a "vaguley humanoid face" with red eyes? Who in thier right state of mind would conjure such a ridiculous concept into CGI? The monster might as well be a giant wee baby throwing a temper tantrum!

Explain the expanding people. Why does a giant humanoid spawn little reptiles who attack your throat? None of this bogus review makes sense, what a waste of time. Mad

I want to see some crazy eureka that would make me cringe ever going to the beach again. I want my giant water louse or seaweed covered landwhale, not a giant peeping Tom!

Re: Damage control = BS

I agree about the dubiousity of the sequences and stuff, but I think this debunking is a bit over the top.

That makes absolutely no sense if you are trying to market a product to Americans. Japanese people don't have this huge 'hate American' thing going either, so it doesn't fit there either.

Heh, mocking the Statue of Liberty isn't a good way of marketing a product to Americans? How about... a poster of it decapitated?
In England they used to advertise chewits with a huge monster skating round London with double decker busses strapped to his feet!
Can't find that one, but here he is mocking the statue of Eros in Piccadilly Circus:

Noise pollution is sound, not a biological mutagen. It can't cause mutations, it causes auditory interference so they whales can't hear correctly. This idea is so lame as to be inexcusable, no respectable studio, scientist, or news outlet would spew such crap.

That's not entirely true, if sound can cause physical damage, it's not out of the question that it could lead to mutations in developing fetuses.
Ultrasound is alleged to cause cell damage and brain damage in mice, and weapons have been developed based on Very Low Frequency sound, inducing nausea, vomiting and abdominal pains.

Try re-reading it. He said the tainted Slusho spawned the little ones, not the monster itself.

Good point.
