All the quotes were driving me crazy with the Tip for the Field post.

Maybe this post is actually a clue to Randy's number. If Green Mobile is a British company, and Randy is in England, then his phone number should have 11 digits total (not including whatever you dial for international calls). I'm pretty much basing this off of the way in which they revealed themselves in the first place, using numbers with corresponding words and letters.

1. Survival
2. Kit
3. Warm Towel
4. Dried fruit
5. Small comb
6. Jerky
7. Flare gun
8. Swiss
9. Army
10. Knife
11. Compass

I think "warm towel" is in quotes to make us think it stands for something else, like an inside term, but is really just a way to get the "w" in the right spot. It might be possible when dialing these letters in order that you get Randy's cell. I split up "Swiss Army Knife" because it's uniquely marked.

Then again, maybe they're literally saying "this looks like a link, but it isn't".

how would putting "Warm Towel" in quotes get it in the right spot when its first on the list?

and Swiss Army Knife is usually abrv. SAK, at least it is on google a lot

75937537252 would be what you get, i'm american so i don't know how the british numbers work...

Green mobile = Secure Line

Didn't see it mentioned, but maybe "green mobile" is a term for a secure/scrambled cell phone...i.e. not one that can be monitored/tapped.

It would make sense to call him on his secure line to discuss an upcoming operation against Tagruato.

I meant they needed a w-word, so they made up a term like "warm towel" that sounds like it could be a code-word. Either that, or it actually is a code word. I'm kinda grasping at straws here.

It's been said before but apparently missed by many: it likely refers to http://www.greenmobile.co.uk/ Makes sense considering the organization. Every other explanation I have seen, ATT go-phone, secured cell etc. doesn't seem to be based on anything real, just stuff people thought up, which means it could be anything, but most likely, at least to me, it seems the link above is the most plausible and likely explanation.

In bulgaria a 1800 or free to call number is known as a green number.

so maybe the green mobile is some kind of mobile that is free to call? just my 2c.

6. Swiss Army Knife

Rearranged the caps like suggested earlier = ASK (just the caps as none of the other entries have all the words capitalised)

Post 6 on the blog:

http://tidowave.com/blog/?p=6

I sent an e-mail and asked how to get in contact as I was interested in the survival kit.

Code:
"class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1197335963_1"

Could that id number be a telephone number? Don't international numbers start with 011-xxx (above is 11-xxx, but maybe if we toss on a leading zero)?[/code]
