Incidentally, what valv's asking for has been done quite a few times for other ARG's, there is often a player-written guide that tracks the story through the ARG. An oft-quoted classic can be found here for The Beast, an ARG that occurred in the universe of Steven Spielberg's (and Kubricks I think) film A.I.

For Cloverfield I think the wiki perhaps serves us better and wiki's seem more popular now. It's easier for lots of people to contribute and keep it updated, rather than the burden falling on one individual. Which is not to say that if someone wants to write a detailed guide they can't Smile
