First of all in regards to the whole squirrel thing. Squirrel is the type of person who will say "I am not insulting you, but you are a cock sucking mother fucker." and than when you say "hey why would you say that?" he will say "hey man dont get so defensive, i said that i wasn't insulting you." so the best course of action is to just let him blow off steam and then go back to suckling on his mother's teet. Mostly i found it hillarious that he would berate people for their poor spelling in the same post that he made several egregious errors of his own. i.e. spelling meant as 'ment' misspelling marlena as marlana, misspelling graffiti as graffittie, etc. (and btw squirrel i will not respond to anything you say so dont even waste your breath, i have said my peace and I am now done with you.)

Not that I'm on Squirrel's side but this is hilariously ironic.

If you are inferring that i misspelled the word peace there, i didn't. I was not meaning to use the word piece, i was using an expression. Now i will freely admit that if I am mistaken and the phrase is "said my piece" than i was wrong. but i am fairly sure that the it is "said my peace" but i could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time and lord knows it wont be the last.

It's definitely "said my piece", as in, "said my part".

You wouldn't say "I'm going to give you a peace of my mind" now would you?

Yes but what about "speak up now or forever hold your peace?" That is kinda where i got it being peace from i think.

EDIT: You know the biggest problem that i (and i think most people) had with squirrel is that he was completely off topic so lets just kill this here, and i promise not to use that saying ever again until i find out for sure, K?

Hold your peace means to maintain your silence.

Speak your piece means to speak aloud about something in particular.

They are unrelated phrases.

I know what the problems with Squirrel were, I also think he was being a dick but if you're gonna have a go at someone for spelling then you want to make sure you're getting what you're saying right.

no it was discussed earlier in this thread, i dont remember what the name of the building was, but the empire state building is lit up all green from the view you see on the roof, and the building collapsing is more white.

p.s. in my research both "said my piece" and "said my peace" are acceptable uses of the phrase, just with piece being the more correct version.

People, I hardly miss "Slusho!"-T-Shirt in this footage. Either its appearance in 1st trailer (or teaser) was only a hint to look for, or...

And to Paramount-People: you do really great thing, I hope it's beginning of new era of entertainment. So thank you.
But: please don't narrow your target group only to US residents, because also many many people from other countries are here. The showing is surely free for everybody, but taking part on your contests is only for US residents, and I know, it's for facilitation of the whole winner procedure (country-specific copy rights at creative contests like "slusho!" and no problem with visa if somebody from overseas win the screening prize at "Cloverfield"-widget etc.).

But you should think global, and you'll get much more audience worldwide.

But thanx for beeing.

Read the link I posted.

"Said my peace" is completely wrong.

... and one thing more:
am I wrong, or the broadcasting on the TV screen is post-producted? I've a feeling, that the TV screen was actually bluescreened (perhaps to put another footage later?)

And 63° at the news is gone. Did they realized something wrong?.. Wink

So are the actual widgets working yet or is it still just the Youtube video?

It's the Woolworth building, Empire State is in the other direction.

Awesome clip, amazing how fast all the events happen from in the trailer.
I guess the rooftop horizon not matching Broadway is just a continuity issue after all.

Explosion could be the result of the tanker being thrown into the city, this would mean the monster doesn't have to carry the head of the statue anywhere, it's still in the harbour at this point.
I already suggested they might be on the roof to look for a capsized ship, go me!

Certainly looked like it, although there are times where something is shown on screen, but the way the picture refreshes it makes it look like it's edited in post-production when the camera moves.

There was a topic earlier discussing the lady from the news station, apparently she is a real news caster and she said they had her filam a whole bunch of footage for the movie and sign a nondisclosure agrement. Maybe they had her say tons of different things and different stories and etc etc etc. sorry running off to work cant search for actually post.

Oh, it sounds reasonable: so she cannot even tell, what she told about. Very JJ Abramesque

Tagruato Logo on Tanker?

I played around with levels and contrast on a screenshot to try to see if that's really a Tagruato logo on the oil tanker in the newscast. In the photo, the area in white that I drew a green square around is what I'm referring to. See the dark round shape in the middle of the white square area? I think that might be the Tagruato logo.

Here's a more zoomed in view of the area. I know it's kind of hard to see with that light source in the lower right corner, but what do you think?

Here's the logo for comparison:
