As for the tanker being large enough to house mr GP. Without any point of referance its hard to judge how large the tanker in the newsclip is, but if it's an ULCC (Ultra Large Crude Carrier) it would be able to move a family of GPs...

The largest ULCC in the world.. the Nock Nevis (formerly Jahre Viking, Happy Giant, Seawise Giant) is 485.46 metres [1,503 feet long] (That's about 60 meter longer than the world tallest skyscraper, the Petrons Tower A in Kuala Lumpur, which is 424 meters tall) Its 67,8meter or 262 feet across, weights in at 260,000 tonnes

Now even half that would be sufficient to transport mr GP...

Wow, they mention one being built that's a whole mile long Shocked

I'm still not convinced, how would they even load him into there?

Yea I was thinking of that. The tonnage on a creature that size would be astronomical. You could underwater "float" his frozen hibernating carcass to the surface, like they do on salvage of ships. But once he (she) is on the surface, how do you pick him up? It is possible that the thing is not that big when they find him and grows exponentially once awakened and exposed to light, warmth etc.

I brought up the thrown tanker and the timeline in regards to the throwing of the head WEEKS ago... and *now* people are discussing it?

Argh!

And to Paramount-People: you do really great thing, I hope it's beginning of new era of entertainment. So thank you.
But: please don't narrow your target group only to US residents, because also many many people from other countries are here. The showing is surely free for everybody, but taking part on your contests is only for US residents, and I know, it's for facilitation of the whole winner procedure (country-specific copy rights at creative contests like "slusho!" and no problem with visa if somebody from overseas win the screening prize at "Cloverfield"-widget etc.).

But you should think global, and you'll get much more audience worldwide.

But thanx for beeing.

the footage is the same from the trailer, the only new part about it is it has a few frames after that, the camera moves a lot so i can't clearly see it and so it may just be my eyes, but it def looks like the monster doing a quick turn up broadway to the building he later destroys

You do see more but I'm not sure about turning up Broadway, I think he was already smashing through that building in the trailer, I think you see some rubble fly out in the last few frames. Also, he's not there when it collapses.

but after watching it again, i really believe it might be showing its back to the camera, i guess that'll be my personal thought till i can download it...

All I can say about the clip is that the camera phone action made me smile and sad at the same time. I smiled because it's utterly ridiculous. Then the sadness took over when I realized that New Yorkers would do exactly that in the face of a tragedy. I've lived close to NY all my life, take my word for it.

The widget is still online at http://widgets.clearspring.com/o/475a0f5f7f2007c8/4761abfc6ea1d571

It doesn't appear to be connected to any specific account so I don't think this will rob Dennis of any grabs.
