Agreed, It seems the profile is to lead us to a new webpage and never update, or hardly ever update, an old one...Well, maybe tomorrow, or maybe this was never an ARG to begin with? We are now receiving all of the interviews...I do hope we can continue, if not it will be off to other ARGs for us!

I thought it might be done after the last Jamie and Teddy vid. Tidowave has been nothing more than a wild goose chase since it was found. This whole ARG/ARE was badly run, seems they knew it and cut tail and ran before they lost out on marketing the movie more traditionally. My opinion only, still keeping my fingers crossed but not holding my breath.

Currently, this 'ARE/ARG' is all dependant upon tidowave.com...because other than that unknown / unreliable site the other sites have remained un-updated except for video 5 and the 'myspace accounts' which apparently provid not much info. What say ye?

To IVO, I do hope they have realized their mistake and have fixed it. I hope they understand and respond to the response they have gotten to the proceived ARE/ARG and respond acordingly....

I haven't seen anything new since the last blogs on the tidowave site; anyone else see any updates???

Are we just supposed to be working on making Slusho! commercials?

GAAAAA... Confused

1: Perhaps (been stated before) that tido date refered to Mon 14 jan 08,
seems silly because its post weekend, (but if tido did hit chuai on the-
14 jan, and found/released something... ' spec ' that would give MGP
plenty of time to reach NY.)

2 : Tido did carry out supposed infiltration, all of them got
captured. (...Im sure glad i brought this "Warm towel")
And that explains why Randy has not posted squat...

C,mon Guys UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE plz...

There were plenty of people time and time again clearly stating this was a viral marketing experience. In that mindset this all makes sense and I am still not feeling shortchanged.

For some reason when this all started and the Ethan Haas nonsense was mistakenly connected the whole "game" concept was born and would not die. Even after knowing Haas had nothing to do with it.

No one can get upset now at this thing saying the "ARG" sucked at the end when it was never intended to be one in the first place.

Yup, I understand what your saying...
But if this is not ARG/ARE, why did certain text on the back of Chefs photo
lead us to Tag', why the 'clue' to find Slusho! , why the 'hack' that led to
Tido...

It has been a paper-chase of clues and discovery so far... (Is that not how a ARG/ARE works...?)

if they was going to infiltrate an organization that they knew already had 1 member of their team, then they would leave behind either a contact on the outside (like waiting in a boat) and a signal given if anything went wrong (so he can hightail it out of there and get more members to try again)

or leave behind someone with the warning that if they aren't back by Tuesday (givin' a long boat ride) to post info regarding the failure and to gather more people or to inform of the losses and that they are gonna try a different approach

at least thats what i'd do

Perhaps the viral marketing is simply done for now...and the real marketing has begun.

Hopefully they'll continue this in some fashion after the movie is released.

I'm just assuming they've all died. That's how this movie works, right?

It's how interactive marketing works.

I remember being around for the Year Zero game. In my opinions the ARG's themselves have more structure and seem to give a better guideline of how things go. "Week 1, Week 2.... etc"

This is just hyper interactivity put to marketing. I only say this because somewhere we as a group lost sight of that. And the pre-movie experience stands to be judged because of a standard that in my opinion was never meant for it.

In other words. Judging this all as an ARG it's been painfully slow and tedious until now where crap is a mile a minute. Judged as a first time hyper-interactive cinematic experience... Pretty cool.

I thought in ARGs the players somehow helped the story advance? Is that wrong? I'm seriously asking.

With this Viral Marketing / ARE we've just been observing goings-on in the universe ... a la

"Hey who's Tagruato, there's a website for ambience!" or

"TIDOO, what does it mean, or TIDOW ... is it Busta Rhymes?!"

I get the impression we've been fed the password to Jamie and Teddy, as well as the existence of Bladow, err, Tidowave ... and then occupying ourselves: mirroring pictures, searching Scripture, and adding and multiplying numbers.

Maybe that's all an ARG is, dunno, never played one created for the enjoyment of its uFers.

This is what i was trying to explain...

A week or so i was having a discussion with Eurchthe (Sp?-sorry)... IG, ARG, IU, all of this means nothing in the end if Uf-ers and INFORMED fans,(the people that understand it are promoting it by word of mouth), are not doing so, this is why they released html coded Widgets and Commercials, so WE would start to spread it, until we do that then they need to focus on REAL marketing, when all is said and done this is a movie and need publicity, this was a innovative way to market, now they need to goto their guns, and focus on more textbook manuevers.

I agree...this was never meant at all to be an ARG...but I do think that when they realized how big things got on the internet regarding this movie...they started to throw out things for everyone to find...related to the movie, but not meant to be maintained as in a true ARG. Just stuff to keep the "mystery" going until the traditional marketing started, ie the commercial on TV, etc.

Always held to this belief, and still do. Damn ye Ethan Haas!!!!!!!
Shocked

Peace.
