My made up asthma story could be true, but not really.

I'll use courtesy for silly people when you use proper grammar and spelling.

I'm safe for all time. Laughing

It's a dog.

Hey clever guy. Just be courteous all the time okay?

"the dog" is obviously a laught, get youself better speakers people. Wink

Incidentally I find an intelligent monster so much more intriguing than the age old "monster is just a dumb animal" recipe. And JJ said it would be "insane" didn't he? Very Happy

I do have excellent speakers, and that's why I'm certain they are not related. The "it's alive" line, I never thought they said anything else from the very beginning, it was quite clear to me at least, I was quite suprised anyone even heard that.

Same thing here. I know what a dog sounds like barking, and I clearly hear it afterwards, a small pause, then around 3 "laughs." They perhaps were put there as a Christmas joke, to give us something to talk about, or perhaps something else, but it is a laugh.

Perhaps it's low and deep enough that some people *can't* hear it. In my years as a computer guy, I've often had monitors that would emit a very high-frequency, endless whine sound. We tested once from one customer who had this (in an office environment), and out of the 15 or so people we had come in to listen, around 7 could hear it, the rest thought we were nuts (I could hear it).

So don't so readily dismiss the sound. Perhaps you just can't hear it, or your speaker or sound system is just lacking (or missing what it needs to play it). I know what a dog sounds like barking, and I do hear that. Then I hear something else, and it is obviously no dog.

You people that hear the laugh are FORCING yourself to hear the laugh. You want to hear it, therefor when you hear anything that remotely sounds like a laugh, you think it is a laugh!

Just think about this: The "Laugh" and the Roar are at two different volumes, and they just sound like 2 completly different things. Don't you think the "Laugh" would be in the same vocal range and maybe the same volume as the roar that happened before it? It's a dog barking! I can't believe there is a debate going on about whether this monster actually laughs at people. It's ridiculous.

And I have exceptional speakers, and sound canceling headphones, and I listened to the 'laugh' from both and I still only hear a dog barking.

I also think that if the monster was laughing, someone in the room would have noticed if some loud noise started to laugh.

It's just a dog barking, and everyone is over analyzing the sound and the clip. It's just a dog. DEAL WITH IT.

if you analyse the main trailer as the monster passes the building, he is in fact clutching a joke book. which explains the laugh.

[HUMOR]

Seriously: I do hear the laugh. I agree with Fleabit. No sarcasm here.

and with that said:

[HUMOR]

I don't think it would be that cool if that indeed is the monster laughing.

Maybe it's intelligent, but I hope that doesn't imply he can laugh. Where are we getting with this? He can talk too? Maybe drop one liners?

who will voice him? De Niro?

I imagine how it will go now.

Ganu Yoshida: how are we gonna drill the nectar with that thing loose and the Chuai station wrecked?

Mr Grumpypants: I don't know I'm like your main dude hahahaha

It's not the same distance away. You can tell the Roar is outside. But the Dog bark sounds like its in the same room as it has the same echo as the peoples voices.

Dog Bark. End of story.

ROAR

Bark Bark Bark

That's how I hear it. I don't hear anything that could be a monster laughing after the bark either.

To me it doesn't make sense for the monster to have a ground shaking roar but when laughing is barely heard. So he's just snickering?

Anyone that has had a dog or lived near a dog can tell you. A dog will bark when they hear a loud noise. The dog is saying, "Did you guys hear that? Sounds HUGE!"

Um no...

Sorry but not "End of story" This is a forum discussion and debate. Some people are hearing a "Dog barking" some are hearing "Laughter" some... Just a "Reverbe" or whatever.

But there is never going to be an "End of story" just because someone in this thread says so; unless J.J himself tells me it's a dog barking - I won't buy it.

It doesn't even sound like a dog barking Rolling Eyes

I have some pretty good speakers on my system here, and I hear all kinds of things... Roar, glass, crunching, dog barking.... but no laugh.

I went to my brothers house, he has even better speakers, actually, he's got a home theater surround sound system set up on his computer for watching movies and gaming.

NO LAUGH.

There's some kind of low-freq rumble, and a barking dog, but I can't even make it sound like a laugh, even if I try real hard.

From your link: "Expert says dogs pant and rats chirp to express mirth".

Which is my point exactly. If this monster is amused, it might make a noise to express such, but it's not going to be the same "laugh" as a human would make.

Also, listen closely. The roar is still going on during the dog barking. It's down to a low growl, but it's still there.
