I don't think it's a dog barking.

I mean, what, it barks three times and that's it?

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's the monster laughing either, the tail end of its roar is still audible.

I hear it clear as day (as well as two friends in the room)... its right after the roar and the people start getting freaked... its pretty faint, turn your speakers up. Gunna check it again to make sure it isnt anything else.

EDIT: I think I heard what I wanted to hear... On second playback, we definitely hear what you're talking about, but it's just a dog barking =/

I can hear that sound aswell, and I doubt that's a dog... even if it sounds like a laughter it could be just something shaking or something (metal or something?) after the earthquake that's causing the sound.

It's a dog barking. It echoes a bit. I've isolated it and put it as an MP3. Second time it's played on this clip is amped up and bit and filtered so you can better hear the echo. It's a dog barking...

ok so i keep going back and forth over this, the first time i watched this clip i was like holy shit the monster just laughed, and that was a fucking evil laugh. than after watching a few more times and repeating it back on the sound a few times i was sold it was a dog. but than i got to thinking that the area of NYC that they are in doesn't seem to be an area where having a dog big enough to make that loud of a noice would be possible. at least not very convinient. but like someone said earlier in this thread a dog wouldn't bark only three times, but on the same note, if the monster is capable of intelligent thought and knows full well what he is doing, he probably wouldn't only laugh his 3 chuckles either. so i have no idea whatsoever what the hell the noise is. but on a side note, you guys were talking about what the monster is (a demon, a mutated animal or whatever) me personally i think that it is a long lost creature (maybe of alien decent) buried/frozen beneath the sea for thousands of years (see old film the beast from 20,000 fathoms) oh and btw i found a flub in the clip, i posted about it in the dedicated thread but watch in the little store at the end of the clip, the rack on the counter gets knocked down by a dude running into the store but than after the lights have flickered on and off a few times it is back up on the counter to get knocked over by mister grumpy pants's stomping around.

A bit of me kinda wants it to be the monster laughing. Because that would mean it knows what it's doing and finds it funny.

In other words, it would actually be evil, rather than attacking on instinct.

Perhaps it is not a dog barking...

Perhaps its the evil MUHAHAHA of Ganu, as he is perched on
top of the creature (on a Tagruato branded saddle).
Driving the monster onwards by useing a limp and lifeless Jamie as a whip... Shocked

^^^^ LOL i love some of the random, "no chance in hell" theories that pop into my head sometimes. I had one just a little bit ago when i was reading the thread about the IG fda investigating slusho. They would find out about all the side effects (i.e. monsters bursting out of people) and so they were going to stop slusho coming to american when tagruato found MGP at the chuai station and ganu learned how to control MGP and used him to take over the world.

What in the world are you going on about?? New York is a place where you can't have larger dogs? A dog wouldn't bark three times? Come on. It's a dog barking my friend...

It doesn't sound like a dog barking to me.

We never hear the sound again, which is odd if it's a dog.

I don't think it's important, I don't think it's the monster but I also don't think it's a dog.

I don't know what it is but it doesn't sound like a dog to me.

Also, if it's a dog then it's either in the apartment above or below the party or it's the loudest dog in the world.

Dunno, it does sound like laughter, but I think it is something else. I don't see it being a dog barking, as was said it must be the loudest damn dog ever.

Not laughter, not a dog, probably just an artifact in the samples they used for the roar. But it is creepy.

Actually, it wasn't in the other trailers was it, so maybe not an artifact?

I thought, "Laugh? No, reverberation."

I heard that too, originally, but as I heard it I thought it was a reverberation.

Of what, I'm not sure, and I'm at work, no speakers, but I tend towards reverberation.
