Clearly a laugh, no way any dog would be able to "bark" like that. Sounds waaaay to deep for that. And no dog would just bark 3 times in quick succession and then become quiet...

But one thought struck me, this wigdet thing is released just before x-mas, might just be a spoof from the crew, adding a Santa Claus "Ho-ho-ho" slowed a lot down, (so the sound gets deeper and more reverbrant), to the sound mix.

If not, it sounded a bit like a cheesy monstermovie anno 1960s to me..

The first two times I listened to the clip, the second time, I thought "wa.. huh?! The monster just LAUGHED..." So yea.. you are not the only one. And I was thinking "no way.. maybe someone in the party.." but nope, it sounded like it came from the monster. Very weird...

Oh.. and when I listened, I spelled out in my head what it sounded like.. and yea.. it was weirdly just like a "muahaha" laugh. Very evil and weird. Maybe this monster is not as stupid as people think.

Oh.. and for sound, I have a rather nice Prologic / Dolby setup.. so perhaps you can't hear it unless you have certain types of sound capabilities? Just pondering...

It's a dog.

Sounds a bit like the beginning of this, but slower.

The laugh I heard was echo-y, distant, and most certainly not a dog barking. A great dane barking through a megaphone with echo turned on couldn't make that sound. It was very laugh-y.. in a mad scientist sorta way. <.<

the area of NYC that they are in doesn't seem to be an area where having a dog big enough to make that loud of a noice would be possible. at least not very convinient. but like someone said earlier in this thread a dog wouldn't bark only three times, but on the same note, if the monster is capable of intelligent thought ....<snip>

What in the world are you going on about?? New York is a place where you can't have larger dogs? A dog wouldn't bark three times? Come on. It's a dog barking my friend...

what i was trying to say here is that the area that they are in looks a lot like just apartment buildings, very urbanized. not the best place to raise a large dog. and as has been posted in response, i have lived with dogs my whole life, and when one is startled, as would be expected with the craziness going on, they never just bark 3 times and go silent. Unless of course a 1200 foot tall monster steps on them, but that is just a given.

p.s. i hope to all hell that santa is the monster. That would kick ASS

LOL^10

I've been a lurker on this site for some time now...and I can no longer hold my peace.
I can't fathom how anyone would think that the barking dog in that clip is the monster laughing.
While it's fun to speculate on strange things happening in the clips, this one is so far out there that it's ridiculousness cannot be measured.

Indeed, this is the new, "It's a lion, it's huge"...look how that turned out.

But...keep grasping at invisible straws...it's very entertaining.

I think people are hearing what they want to hear, really. That's a little Lost-esque now isn't it?

However, if the monster does laugh in a guttural fashion, that would make it even more creepy to me. There's been a rumor that the monster is a humanoid, and man-made, what with the evidence from Jamie's last video. Given that, having the capacity to laugh while wreaking havoc would make sense. I don't think the monster is laughing in the clip at all, but that would be pretty cool, IMO.
