[DK][TRAILHEAD] IBelieveinHarveyDentToo.com Possible Batman: The Dark Knight ARG?
Quote:
Warner Bros. is really kicking-off the viral campaign for The Dark Knight early! In addition to the official website launching with a link to http://IBelieveinHarveyDent.com , the studio has also brought online a site made by the Joker. At http://IBelieveinHarveyDentToo.com , fans get a look at a defaced Harvey Dent image. But the cool thing is that you can enter your e-mail and a code. You'll receive an e-mail with a link and X and Y coordinates that will reveal one pixel from an image underneath!
An article at http://SuperHeroHype.com claims this as a viral campaign but it looks to me that it may be an ARG.
And for those that don't know, The Dark Knight is the sequel to the film Batman Begins.
Edit: Moved and retagged. -SpaceBass

I doubt it's an ARG. Looks more like it's just ramping up to reveal the new look for the Joker. At least that's what my comrades over at the City of Heroes boards say. I myself can't tell.

The Coordinates I got were X = 616, Y = 91. Not sure what it's doing, but there's a pixel glowing at me.
Any thoughts?

Ok, I emailed the addy tragicpastSPLAT ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com
Got this back:
Quote:
People always ask me about my charming boyish smile. Jessica used to love it. She was the loneliest girl in high school, and my first big kiss...
Hmm.....

Everyone gets a different coordinate, when you type it in at the link they give you it takes away a pixel revealing another bit of the jokers face.
Edit: Don't know if there is a way to get this from the input boxs on the front page but, when decompiling the flash looking for the full pic I found an image that says, "Trying to cheat a cheater. You make me smile.".

So I was wrong over on Digg, and the 'peel away his face' thing isn't what everyone gets?

No clue. I just tried emailing the addy that sent me the pixel coordinates. Got that back. I emailed it again, but nothing yet.
I'm open to suggestions.

Ah. Guess I missed the part where you said you emailed the addy. I misread your post as that being what you got when you entered your email on the site.

I'm pretty new to this whole thing, so this is the first one I've been able to get in early on. I was just thrilled to get an email back.

I got that as well when I went for a second set of coordinates with the same email address.

Ibelieveinharveydenttoo Looks like the face has been completely revealed, except for a couple of pixels here and there in the background. I tried using temporaryinbox accounts to take away the last few pixels, but it won't let me. They worked last night, so I'm wondering what the deal is.

tragicpast email Trying to see if I can make tragicpast email anything different to me. No luck so far. I'm also researching references to anyone named Jessica in Joker canon - which may be utterly useless.
Anyone got any ideas?

According to a thread on comixfan.com forums, Jessica Seaborn is a known alias of Harley Quinn, who, since the B:TAS days, has been a 'sidekick' of sorts to the Joker...

I think I'm barking up a useless tree here, but if I hear something, I'll let ya'll know.

after a ton of sent in emails and a bunch of people typing in their coordinates, the pixels all formed together to make this image of the Joker:
http://superherohype.com/nextraimages/jokerrevealed.jpg
Returning to http://IBelieveinHarveyDentToo.com shows a updated page that's nearly blank, except for the words "Page not found" in red.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Further examination of the updated page reveals a lot of "HAHAHAHAHA"s if you do ctrl+a on the page. Looking through the long lines of laughter reveals a number of out of place letters that once strung together, form the phrase "See you in December."
Oh, and a bit of interesting information according to Superherohype.com: It looks to be that 42 Entertainment (famous for the Ilovebees and Year Zero ARGs) is behind this one. The company just recently registered the domain SeeYouinDecember.com but no page is officially up as of yet.
