certainly that oddest review i've read in a while (i'm trying to be very diplomatic about it).

dude, I don't even care if that's a real review or not.. it's the best damn thing I've ever read. It reeks of manliness.

What. The. Hell.

That review was some SERIOUS next-level shit. I feel like I need to throw up, or take a long bath, or something after reading that. If you read between the crack-induced ravings of a lunatic mind, the movie sounds like it will rock. (If the review is real, and this twisted screwball has really seen it.)

Holy WTF?!?!?

That had to be one of the funniest reviews I've ever read, and it got me sort of creeped out at the same time. If this is legit, then the movie is going to be so far past pg-13 land, either that, or it's going to use some of the most innovative storytelling and camera-craft we've ever seen. Gotta read this for yourselves.

yeah, I agree. At this point, I'm just accepting smaller monsters. It's happening. Just wait.

spec

We're kinda of going to base some of this on the ramblings of a shooting-spree in waiting, but if it has any merit, then MGP rubbing up against buildings and shedding "stuff" has been bounced around here before.

So..... what kind of creature can replicate or reproduce from simple biological waste? This thing may or may not have some basis in fact and science, so... can anyone think of an organism that can replicate at high speeds simply by dropping dermis?

i like the idea of flashbacks though, seems to give it a little more depth in my opinion. but this is what i'm trying to figure out:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
quote "And then – and THEN – and I mean, at this point, the movie's like a speed freak yelling at you, as if the giant monster and the things crawling away weren't bad enough, there's a third, even more messed-up thing the monster can do to a person"

this seems to have the reviewer freaked out the most.

All things considered, I wish *every* movie review would be written like that! I mean, I would love to see Roger Ebert use a phrase like "RIP THE LIVING S*** out of the city"...

And the last sentence is disturbing.

Lol, just be comfortable in your manliness, Nighthawk.

Wonder if what the guy was trying to say is that Rob turns out to be a pretty strong lead by the end of this flick. Comes on sort of wishy-washy in the teasers, but through the film, turns into a take charge kind of guy.

Did JJ screen this movie in a prison/mental health facility? I just had to wash my eyes out after reading that...

That review should be labeled IMDB's greatest hits...

Sounds good, seems legit despite everything.

So
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
there's flashbacks throughout the movie, that were on the tape before they were recorded over on the night?
cool.

Agreed, I'm laughing my ass off here.

This bit makes you wonder what's going on inside this guy's head.

I had a long dream about the male star of the movie two nights after I saw this, where we both had shirts off and he was helping me do sit-ups. So f**k this movie for that part.

About the AICN reviewer...

I go to AICN for a long time now, and this reviewer Neill Cumpston writes only from time to time, and always about movies with a huge anticipation (like the refered Matrix Reloaded in the article) and always some weeks or months before everyone sees them or their actual release. Some believe it's the site's owner Harry Knowles who writes them or other frequente contributors, and other also believe it might be a comedian like Patton Oswalt, Kevin Smith, or other showbiz personalities. The main thing is, I think nobody believes this is an actual person, because that's just too dumb (and sometimes very funny).

As to the recent facts revealed in the recent interviews (the date etc), I must say I feel let down by all this. It seems they didn't have a plan in the beggining, then the teaser it with huge amunts of buzz and they developed a plan, and then they just left it off again. We're just a month away from the release and there's no activity whatsoever on the ARE/ARG. I really feel let down!

This doesn't jive with what Reeves said:
Quote:
Because one of the exciting things about the premise of the movie - which is that this movie is found footage and you're going to watch this footage - there's the "Handicam" and the only cuts you see are when the person operating the camera is turning the camera on and off.

And about "un-recorded bits" business? Let me state this again, loudly so the people in the back of the class understand.
THIS VIDEO CAMERA DOESN'T USE TAPE!
This is what they are using in the movie:

It records to SDHC media, fully digital. This isn't like recording over your fourth grade recital on VHS. Nothing is going to bleed through from a previous recording in the middle of a newer one. Granted, clips are stored as separate files, so you could play them out of order, but I don't think that's what's being suggested here.

Of course this is Hollywood, and we might have Hud decide he needs to rewind or change the tape and completely ignore the real piece of equipment they are using, thinking that most folks won't notice. Or maybe the bits stored in the flash memory are magically scrambled. Bah, whatever. /rant
