I don't know that it's so much that we're taking a holiday break, so much as it's that we're stumped by these codes! Well, I can't speak for everyone, of course. I certainly hope that someone does pops up after the holidays and proclaims that they've solved it!

Every few days I've spent time trying to crack them again until I get frustrated and have to walk away. :-/

As to Michael Taylor's video response.. I have to laugh at 'New Resolution To Find My Son.' Meaning he wasn't doing so before? He didn't say anything I didn't expect though. Does anyone else think that the man shown on the surveillance cameras looks somewhat like Eric? Of course, the CM and Eric are similar in build in the first place...

A comment posted to the video does make a point. Weren't they supposed to not involve the police? Slip-up by the PuppetMaster, or is this something that will incur the CM's wrath? Dun dun dun!

Okay, when he shows the message about the "ton of e-mails" he's received about Sue Hart, it's clearly a shot from the Find Eric Taylor board, but they are all messages that do not exist on said board. While I understand this would be easy to fake, doesn't this suggest that he's hiding things from us?

Uploaded a screenshot of the fake forum posts. Note- there's a letter from nvk there. Wonder what it says?

Would PMs possibly look like that, or is that an exclusive look to the public threads?

PMs actually do look like that...

See for yourself:

(All these PMs have been sent by me to my own account - thereby the name and titles.)

Since one says "I'd Bone Her" I'm guessing they are jokes... unless Wabonan wrote that... Laughing

The clips of the CM are the same guy who is Sue's husband, the guy arguing with her in the suit, the guy at the table arguing (maybe the divorce lawyer). The guy at the head of the table... But to me he also looks like TDC.

One thing that stuck out to me in the video is Michael's belief that CM is using someone else to upload the videos.

If that's true, maybe Russ is helping his daddy get his job done. Or there's someone else we've yet to meet in this ordeal.

A couple things:

--I think TDC and CM are the same person. I've always thought that even though I know they said they are at war with each other. What purpose would this serve? I don't know, but that's what I'm rolling with.

--There's something about Eric's dad that's always seemed a little off. I can definitely see him lying and hiding some things from people. He did say that some people recognized Sue's photograph---now if they can identify Sue, I bet they can identify her husband *wink wink*

--Eric and CM are not built the same way. Have you seen CM? That guy is ripped! His biceps are bigger than most tree trunks I've seen.

--I think Michael Taylor is doing the right thing. He is stepping up his game and giving CM the finger. I think that CM figures Michael wouldn't call his bluff---well look out cause the po-po are coming to town on this one! I can't wait for CM's next video.

You know, I'm wondering if this will even end up with a twist like Thr3e by Ted Dekker. I won't spoil that, but if you want to know what happens in it you can pm me.

Here's my $0.02 about what Cheshire said

Is TDC and the CM the same person, trying to lure us into some kind of hoax conflict between two sides? I seriously doubt it. Outside the realm of this story, you may be right - but why should you create an additional character of yourself inside the game, one which even gave away his voice - as we have made audible? The CM used a TTS system on the next video and it would have suited the character of TDC much better if he first employed it to maximize the concealing of identity. But of course, there is some sort of visual clue in the video-response that may lead us to the assumption that TDC is always at the internet café the CM uses to upload his videos. But of course, this can be a pure coincidence.

The video is edited together almost word by word - therefore it does not only look awkward, it even sounds odd... (Of course, it is hard to keep the lines you have to say in mind without a cue card at hand. And probably he is not a really good actor when in front of a camera.) If the editing is done deliberately that way, he surely is lying and hiding information. But I wouldn't really give much into the PMs Michael Taylor got: People give their messages the weirdest names to gain attention.
Yes, if Sue would have been identified, it would be rather easy to learn about her family and those who were at their home on a regular basis. (That would easily reduce the set of possible CMs to about 25, I think.)

You only see young birches, eh? just kidding. While the CM seems to be of a stronger build than eric, you can easily lead us to wrong assumptions by stuffing your clothes with fabric (and thereby faking muscles and/or fat), visual distortions of height and build by using striped clothing...
If you're good enough, you may even start creating and using prosthetics to make you look more different. (Remember: Mr. Hart appears to be a director - we're at the movies.)

In case of a real hostage situation, Eric would be dead by now as the cops seem to be on the CM's heels. But as it's "the movie variant" of said situation, everything can happen...

The only addendum I have is that I suspect Eric to start sympathizing with his captor's ideals... Anyone saying "Stockholm's syndrome"?

--Kork, wo couldn't make it just $0.02, but $1,98 (plus tax). Wink

(Sorry 'bout the lenght - I didn't have time to think of a shorter response.)

Come on---go back and watch the earlier videos where CM is beating the crap out of Eric on camera. You can't fake those. His shirt is super tight and doesn't leave much room for fakage. Besides, he is kind of a big man period. Not just his arms. You'd have to be pretty big to kidnap a teenage boy while he's jogging and throw him in your car. I bet Eric fought him like a tiger and CM a.k.a. The Hulk lol had to be strong to knab him.

And I still think Michael did the right thing. You have to get the police involved--I mean any person would do that. Yeah, maybe announcing it was not so great, but what else was he gonna do? CM knows the po-po are involved and have an investigation running. CM has obviously showed that he's not gonna give Eric back easily (maybe not at all). Knowing that the police are getting closer may scare CM a little bit, who knows? Michael's reaction is kind of like the Mel Gibson reaction in Ransom--can I get a heck yeah!

IDFKnow………. Bang Head

The key is the verse
Deuteronomy 5:9
Not backwards [the codes], and you cannot decode them all the same way

So this is the code the way it appeared in the video…..

Db ktzhp tyo,
wpqylbro epas … Wptfawwe Sic

gqrctmm wzclm odoi ieoh pd yfz yvm

Ive tried a bunch o vigenere. im starting to think i need to convert words into numbers then rot the code letters.

Hey, I'm getting absolutely nothing with this code, but I do know a couple of things about Deuteronomy.

Deuteronomy comes from the Greek words meaning "second law." Right before the Israelites entered into the Promised Land, God communicated the Law to them again to renew the covenant between Himself and His people.

The verse in question is part of the Ten Commandments and is, in fact, the second commandment. This commandment pertains to the creation of idols to false gods and also misrepresentations of the true God through images (ie, Aaron's golden calf).

At the end of the book, Moses dies, and Joshua takes over as the leader of Israel.

I dont know if it means anything but the first code has capital letters:

Quote:

Db ktzhp tyo, wpqylbro epas … Wptfaw we Sic

but the second one doesnt

Quote:

gqrctmm wzclm odoi ieoh pd yfz yvm

I tried lining them up, but the first code is a little bit longer. Also in the first code, Sic is not at the beginning of the sentence so it's probably a name. If it's Sue, then the key would be "soy". But that could be so y___, or ___soy, or soy___... theres no way to tell how long the key is or where it starts. Or if this is anywhere near right.

If the code Wptfaw we Sic is blank or Sue, then the key would be insoy. Does that look like any related phrases to anyone? I dont see anything but I figured I'd throw it out there.
