 		Hmm...well, after the recent interviews with the director, etc...it's stated that this movie is actually a third person pov, watching the tape of the events after the fact...after the military found said tape. So someone in the gov/military survived the entire thing...

So, I'm not sure where that leaves the military and a possible defeat of the monster. Did the monster just vanish? Run out of town? Destroyed totally? Did the military just "stumble" upon this tape? In a city the size of NYC they just randomly found it? or did the military know where to look for it???

Lot's to ponder eh?

 		I assume that if it is found, than they are looking for survivors, and if they are looking for survivors, than it would be days or maybe even weeks after the attack, and if they were looking for survivors that early on after the attack, MGP must have been killed, or else disaster support units would not be sent into a zone considered to be highly dangerous with a possible military threat still looming about.

What if Clover (my new name for the monster) could regenerate??

(Think Wolverine or Claire Bennet)

This could be a reason why some rumours on the internet say that the monster 'dies', only to come back. O_O
This could be either a mutation or an engineered ability, of course, we have to know if Clover is natural or man-made. (My money on natural)

 		A lot of stuff points to MGP being an over-sized extremophile or something like that, making it practically invincible anyway.

Now, there *are* tons of military bases in the US, albeit the map doesn't indicate what kind of fire-power is available, I'd think large metropolitan areas have more "bang bang" available, as well as the aforementioned "9/11 ness" of Nueva York.

http://www.nps.gov/history/nagpra/DOCUMENTS/BasesMilitaryMAP.htm so I don't think "distance to a base" is a factor.

Beaucoup in the NY state / city area.

I chose Clover, becuse and interview with Mike Stahl-David indicates that "GP" is nicknamed "Clover", hence, Cloverfield.
