verrry interesting. I think the subway scene could very well include smaller monsters... Or even other people trying to hide from grumps who try to keep Rob et al out of their hiding place by violent means.

Popeye

Popeye used spinach to make him stronger, or get him out of a bad situation. Typically to beat up the bully that pushed him and his girlfriend around. He'd basically go bezerk when he ate it.

It kinda seems to me like, with a statement like that, you can start to rule out the DSN as being negative, or a carrier, or eggs as has been stated in other threads.

Seems like Rob (as mentioned) is actually wishing he had some (at least in the interview)

my .02

I agree that Slusho! sounds more like a positive thing now, maybe consumption gives the person some kind of immunity or just increases your stamina to help run the f*** away. Smile

I didn't know Rosie O'Donnell had a cameo in the movie. Laughing

I think Mr GrumpyPants is a variation on Mr SplashyPants, which was voted to be the name for a whale on the Greenpeace website
http://www.greenpeace.org.uk/blog/about/save-mr-splashy-pants-20071210

I heard Mr GrumpyPants first, so it was funny discovering it that way round.

Gotta love that deep-sea ingredient!

That makes Slusho! sound like it has good "side-effects". And the commercial says something about it not being scary. maybe we're still not on the right track...

slusho!

Yeah that's what really got me thinking....Slusho! is a good thing to have in times of great stress eh? Well according to one of the film's main actors...lol...now what's that worth??? Shocked
Could be a clue to get us on the correct thought process(s) concerning Slusho!...?

Kinda blows the cork off any speculation we've had thus far...sorta kinda.

peace.

The Slusho Seven fractures further...
Quote:
Then there's Lizzy Caplan [as Marlena], who randomly gets stuck with us — she's not in our close circle of friends ... she's the outsider in our midst.

And yet she's a top friend on all but one of the Myspace pages.

But we all saw this coming:
Quote:
Then there's Beth [Odette Yustman], [and] I've always felt like there's something there between us," he explained. "We've been friends for a long time, but whenever I'm single, she's been seeing somebody and vice versa. We've never really connected, until a few weeks before the tape begins to roll — but I'm leaving, so it was just going to end where it was.

New Year's hookup maybe?

This interview just makes me even more excited about seeing it.
I'm really glad that the monster isn't named in the movie. I kind of like the Mr. Grumpypants thing. I want a shirt that says I love Mr. Grumpypants on it.

Someone else can feel free to create a new thread. I figured this would save space on the front page.

Michael Stahl-David has another interview posted at IESB.com. Check it out.

As always, this IESB interview is LONG.

"You can't drink just six!"

Perhaps drinking seven or more Slushos protects you from something the monster causes, and that Marlena didn't have enough? Or maybe Slusho can be used as a weapon against the monster/mini-monsters?

I believe the Slusho! ingredient is something that when consumed in small doeses has a positive impact on the body. I think of it sort of like an energy drink. It has some properties which are actually healthy.

I think the catch is that too much consumption of whatever is in Slusho! causes bad things to happen. I believe this is a secret known by Tagruato that they try to cover up.

FYI- Saw "I am Legend" last night. Cloverfield extended trailer (I got cold chills and my gf was like, huh?). No posters or cardboard though.

Awesome. Thanks for that. Nothing really new in it, but we know there is a wax model of Grumpypants, and it's apparently "terrifying".

We've been thinking there is just something about Slusho being a cold drink. Perhaps, We are confusing things, but if temperature is an issue regarding the properties of DSN, maybe drinking a lot of Slusho becomes a "good" thing or a bit of makeshift, triage relief.

This would be disappointing, as We find it far more emotionally profitable to believe that Slusho is equated to evil.

Likewise, if there are simply government lackeys behind the mystery door, it would be a let-down, unless, of course, those suits have tentacles and anthrax breath.
