 High score
how do you get a high score on the pilot game?

I finally got a computer good enough to play the games at a speed fast enough that my scores actually count (they weren't before....probably because it would give an unfair advantage). Anyway, I managed to get up to number 11. Anybody here in the top ten? I might be able to get there if I can get a perfect score on the dogfight game or if I can get faster at the skeet shoot and formula mixing ones. It was pretty cool getting a perfect score on the stunt pilot game and Alice and I are both in the top ten on decoder. All this mini-game madness is actually pretty fun.
I keep getting the same score on stunt pilot and I am in 9th place. My score is 19416 which is pretty good but I did a perfect run and got the same thing! How do I get my score to be 19468? Please comment because I am stumped.[/quote]

You need to hold the space bar to go faster and use the least amount of movements possible. Hope it helped.

Decoder is Mastermind. If you can play that game, you can play decoder. When my daughter plays she always starts 2 green and 2 orange and goes form there. I know it doesn't help much, but if a 7 year old can get 20,000 points I'm sure you can too. Good luck

Dogfight

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice on Dogfight. I've managed to get through the entire game without dying, but I'm still over 4000 points away from the leaders. The game doesn't have a visible timer, so I'm wondering how you gain additional points in this game. I realise that my squadmates kill some of the enemies, but they can't be killing 4000 points worth of baddies! Although I've done it without dying, I always take damage (and sometimes a lot!) Could this be affecting the score for that game? Any advice on how to improve your score on Dogfight would be much appreciated! An extra 3000-4000 points would definitely help my overall score!

Thank you for your time.

The fourth clue is copper.

So we've got:

Iron Solute
Uranium
Phosphorus
Copper

Really looks like an alchemist's grocery list.

Questionable Answers

OK, a few heads up shout outs to those who've been asking -

For a perfect score on Stunt Pilot Trainer:

You start the game with five lives and get the best scores for each round by holding down the space bar for the entire round while getting through the rings in the shortest path possible. I believe Tyty has mentioned this before, but basically you should never let go of the space bar.

The trick to getting those few extra points is in using those extra guys you have at the start. Since losing a guy ends any ring chain you've built, it only pays to use your extra men on the very first level. Pretty much you just fly through the first two rings and then crash so that you don't complete the level; remembering to keep that space bar held down. You'll do this four times (using up all but one of the five guys you start with) which will net you 52 more points. After that you just beat the game not missing any more rings, balloons, and (most importantly) without letting up that space bar. Don't use the extra men you earn in the bonus levels as it'll actually cost you points since it would break your consecutive rings chain.

For a perfect score on Dogfight:

It's almost the exact same concept for Dogfight as it was for Stunt Pilot Trainer. Keep the space bar held down for the entire time. The difference is when you use those extra men. Instead of in the first level, you'll use them in the second to last level "Bomber Raid". You're using them then because that's the level where you can earn the most points. What you'll want to do is to go about taking out all the planes until the last one. With that last plane you need to shoot it down, but you need to crash your plane before it crashes so that you can do the level over again yet still earn the maximum number of points for the level. With that last life you'll just beat the level as normal and then beat the final level and boom, perfect score.

To get the fourth clue:

As many people have said earlier in the thread - you need card #60 to get that fourth clue. That's pretty much it. You might need to finish one of the missions, but ultimately it's all about having entered a code for card #60.

For a good score on Decoder:

Practice. A lot. Maybe even go find some strategy tips for Mastermind (an older board game that is the exact same game as Decoder) on the net; Wikipedia might be a good place to start, though I always like a nicely worded Google search.

The book 2 cards

I just finished adding the names, branches and difficulties of the Book 2 cards to thebruce's wiki - I managed to get the book early.

There is again crazy numbering, which when decoded reads "Look to India".

Looking back to the first book, after opening the first pages, I decided to try and decode the numbers on the skulls' heads. What did I get? "Ian red L". Could this mean that Ian (Kabra) is a Lucian (Which we know)?

Looking at the first page of the second book, decoding the main musical shard reads "Gideon".

Lots of new info!

Re: The book 2 cards

The letters from the skulls in book one could spell out "Ian Red L," or they could simply spell
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Ireland
. I think my guess is the more likely, though I'm not sure why that word would be important...yet!

Thank you all for the advice on the flying games! Now I see how people earned those extra points!
