Clues?

I have unlocked four clues: Iron solute, Phosphorus, Uranium, and Tungsten. I know that the other clue can be unlocked by adding card 60 to your account, but I was wondering what that clues was. Oh, and sorry if this has been said before, but I didn't bother to read all 70 something posts.

I don't think so -- just looks like an alternate spelling. From http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Sakhet:
Quote:
In Egyptian mythology, Sekhmet (also spelled Sachmet, Sakhet, Sekmet, and Sakhmet; and given the Greek name, Sacmis), was originally the warrior goddess of Upper Egypt. She is depicted as a lioness, the fiercest hunter known to the Egyptians.

If you check the Copyright page before Page 1, you'll find that credit is given for the image of this person. Also, she is mentioned as a contact in Book 2. I apologize if someone else has already posted this theory, but that might save you some time Alice!
Thanks for solving the mystery. I did have a brief thought of looking at the photo credits, but it was fleeting. Unfortunately, no time saved, though -- I had already given up. Crying or Very sad Now, how about that GIDEON thing?

I can't really blame you for not wanting to read 80 PAGES of posts, but you don't have to!! There is an awesome search functionality. Try it!! It really works. I promise you will find the answer. Heck you could probably find the answer from plain old google.com.

saw alice posted about card 41's russian text. she must have deleted it while I was researching. The russian text on the back means KGB archiv (ch sound like Bach in German), probably meaning KGB archive.
Yep! I figured it out myself. It wasn't particularly interesting, so I withdrew my question.

Thanks for the code! And that's a good observation about the blast in MoB. I don't think that anyone has previously noted that.

I noticed that there were a TON of posts from people trying to posts to this thread, but not using the correct "postreply" button. sapagoo has consolidated all of them to a thread at http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27171. If you haven't read them, it is sort of humorous (especially the one asking "where are all my posts?"). I didn't find much of substance except this possibility:

Not even sure if this is a 39 Clues related post. Anyone know if we have a card with the Washington monument?

Sorry - my fault - it isn't related to 39 Clues. I just checked the user, and he re-posted his question in the G A Project thread. My apologies.

No problemo... Not your fault that newbies don't post right. It sounded like the sort of post that we get here. Besides, I think I suggested to you that the post was supposed to be part of the 39 Clues thread, so my bad, too.

The cover music is not requiem http://www.theeuropeanlibrary.org/portal/images/treasures/at03.jpg
I don't think it is the marriage of figgaro either. I could be wrong on this though. It's a 422 page score and I'm not going to go through each line of it to work that out. Can someone check the credits?

Fidelio was written by Bethoven, not Mozart. It's aa comedy about the prodigal son.

daft idea, but i was looking at the wikibruce and the clues as laid out online put this thought into my head.

Do you think this would be so easy that it would spell something across the rows? We've speculated a lot on the possibility, So far each one is an element. If this continues it might be a possibility. Now I know there are 100+ elements, but of these only 17 are vowels. It might be a possibility.

So for example, the second position is Tungsten. To make a word, the first position would probably have to begin with an S, or A simply because of how English words are formed. Those are the most common groupings. I'm probably not being clear here. We may be looking at a 39 letter word (or series of words), or it may just be another clue.
Following this train of thought, I'm guessing the element between Uranium and Phosphorus will begin with an N. I'm also guessing we won't see xenon, zirconium, or vanadium Laughing

This is like trying to guess which letter Vanna White is going to turn over next Wink I'll buy a vowel now please! If this is as I believe, by clue 10 we should be able to come up with something.

I've some thoughts on the secret archives, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. I should have been in bed an hour ago.

Actually, if the elemental thing continues, it's not really feasible. Since, as you point out, there are few vowels, it's nearly impossible to write out any english sentence using only the elemental symbols as the text. No standalone E is probably the killer.

I do concur with the possibility of the clues being a sentence, or paragraph of some sort, however - but we need more than just elemental symbols.

Anyone have any thoughts on Marie Antoinette and Card No. 14? Seems like more than a coincidence that Marie Antoinette is mentioned in a Janus heavy book and there is a Janus card talking about someone impersonating Marie Antoinette...

Also, I think someone mentioned this before, but I only got around to checking just now. If you put Book 1 and Book 2 beside each other with the covers up, the pictures actually line up. The "swoosh" going through the skulls on book one carries through the glass shards on Book 2. In addition, if you look at the Right Centre of Book 1's cover, you can see a few glass shards with music notes and staves, just like the Right Centre of Book 2 has the sword I assume connects to Book 3. Cool!

Finally, one last question: I understand why there are music notes on the front of Book 2, but why glass shards? What's the connection? And didn't Gordon Korman say there were two, maybe three meanings to the title? I think this is a reference to the note Ian Kabra shouldn't have played on the harpsichord, but what do you think the other meanings are?

Go. Think. Let me know!

At the risk of distracting people from discussing the promo cards... Wink

I just loaded the carnival card (#61) and I noticed that the card description mentions that it is from a painting that hung in Grace's Attleboro mansion -- AND THE SECRET POWER OF THE CAHILLS! Exclamation

Isn't that what we are searching for with the 39 clues -- the source of the Cahill power? Anyway, I decided to see what I could tell from the card. In the background, there is a domed structure that I believe is the St Mark's Basilica (Basilica di San Marco a Venezia). According the wiki,
Quote:
For its opulent design, gilded Byzantine mosaics, and its status as a symbol of Venetian wealth and power, from the 11th century on the building was known by the nickname Chiesa d'Oro (Church of gold).
So, once again we have the idea that gold has something to do with what we seek....

BTW, Venice Carnival 2009 is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2009 - Tuesday, February 24, 2009. I wonder if the game will do anything that coincides with the actual Venice Carnival.

Piecing it together

I think Aliceinwunderland may be on to something.

Also, with the Elements thing, I think it may have something to do with their number, EG Uranium is 92 and Phosphorus is 15, Tungsten is 74. But it may also be their Symbols, so
UPHW, if someone has the card 60 clue, please add the symbol or number in.[/quote]

Iron Solute

In the Iron Solute Clue, it is the only anagram, so maybe, the others are anagrams as well, I back my theory by MoB, when William McIntyre tells everybody that the clues will get harder. So I am guessing that they aren't showing us everything in the newer clues.
