It could just be that they are all Madrigals and out to stop the clue hunt! They are just using Amy and Dan as Patsy's Laughing

By the way, have you looked up what a Madrigal is? Interesting no?

And what are you doing up at this late hour? Don't you have school tomorrow? Boy do I feel sorry for those students Laughing Wink Laughing

musical score

The musical score on page 16 is from Mozart's Adagio & Rondo KV 617. But they told us that in the book didn't they. It doesn't look like the cover music though. This score is only 11 pages long if anyone cares to comb through it it can be found here: www.cs.vu.nl/~rutger/sheet-music/mozart-617/mozrt-617-score.pdf

You can add it as an attachment right under posting box. I just looked and it says the max load size is 0 kb. you could put it on a webpage like photo bucket and make an img link to it as well.

There is some head-scratchin' info in the Gazette. "Cahill Son Mysteriously Disappears" dated May 29, 1962 starts off as false. It suggests James, his father, is still alive. Oops, but James died 3 years before in 1959 (Grace marries Nathanial).

I've reread and reresd, but I can't see where it says James died in 1959.

Quote:

My big problem with this article is this: Written May 29th, it states "he (Fiske) was last seen leaving his painting studio at 3AM on April 15th (a Sunday). Later we discover "no one noticed his disappearance until May 1st" when police were contacted. Whether it was 2 or 6 weeks later, I would have a hard time remembering the exact day that I last saw for the time an odd guy who doesn't speak to anybody. But this person did, and also, amazingly, remembers the exact hour of 3AM. OK Super Sleuths help me out on this one!

Numerous studies have been done on crime victims and time is often something remembered. It's concrete. Looks of people aren't. They blend together too much. I remember seeing videos of a car accident. When bystanders were asked to describe the vehicles involved, most of them couldn't even remember the color, much less the make, but the majority could remember the time on the clock in the video.

There was a scene from my cousin vinnie to this effect, but with a dirty window. The old woman couldn't remember the person who commited the crime, but she could remember the time because of a tv program or some such that was playing at the time.

This phenomena works with music (we remember things further into the past if we hear a piece of music that was a part of the event) and the strongst sense for this is smell. A smell from 100 years ago will trigger a memory of an event that happened at that time.

All that bable to say I don't think the time is a particular odity.

If you sign up at the wiki at http://various.wikibruce.com/39Clues, there is a Upload File link on the left hand side. It should let you easily upload scans to the wiki. If you are familiar with wikis, then you can link to them on the wiki, or tell us the names of the files, and we can add links to see the files.

I've reread and reresd, but I can't see where it says James died in 1959.

The Family Tree that we've seen from the Australian card packs lists James' death as 1959.

HighTideOnRhum's post on page 37 of the trailhead thread, has an attachment with comments on the family tree.
on page 36, Maggie first attached the picture of the family tree
http://www.the39clues.com/cahillweb/article/cahill-son-mysteriously-disappears
is the page that implies that Fiske's mom, Edith, is dead, and that Fiske's dad, James, is not dead.

Edit: Both http://www.the39clues.com/cahillweb/article/Attleboro-Gazette-Grace-Cahill-Obituary and http://www.the39clues.com/cahillweb/article/i-like-useless-facts-grace-cahill mention Grace's marriage to Nathaniel in 1959 - neither mention James' death. I think the only thing we have pinning his death to 1959 is the family tree.

If any of you can help me out, please post a video link for the copper clue of send me the video. I am really dying to see it. I have already spent so much on those card packs trying to find that card 60.

By the way, my surveillance camera code is 23WR3XGCX2. Hope you enjoy it.

If I didn't know better, I thought they looked like brothers when I 1st saw them together. The shape of their heads, upper body frame, then I looked closer at the eye set & eyebrow, the nose, there is just too much to dismiss the possiblity of relative. I'm guessing Fiske is the Starlings Grandfather.

I'm guessing scholastic ran into still actor problems and used the same person for both photos. Laughing Seriously though, you may have a slight point. But how do you account for the different lips and the cleft chin? The Mother?

Just 1 more thing: all teams have been ID by branch except Amy (Ekat?), Dan(Tomas?) & the Starlings. SO AT THIS TIME, I believe Fiske is alive, the Starlings grandfather, a Madrigal, & the Man in Black.

I thought the man in black was Will Smith Wink

I'm just having fun with you. You do have a point. Mackintire doesn't have a branch either and he is associated with the man in black. (or at least in my mind he is) This may be the reason the Starlings were knocked out so soon in the game. But I have a feeling they will be back.

And why was Lan Nguyen sent to Venice then never showed up in the book? And why can you get information on her only through the card, and not the Cahill Web? Why is George McClain still unclickable? And finally, how many other people are not listed on the web but can be clicked via the cards?

Embarassed I was looking only at the 39clues.com and His death isn't listed there. I see the point now. I'll concede that it is a bit fishy. Embarassed

I think that maybe the Scholastic people want us to buy the correct cards first before we can see the information. Maybe to "encourage" us to buy more cards.

buying cards

Right now, there are no more cards to buy. Are you suguesting that we will get a card that links Fiske and Ned in the second wave of cards?

Ekatprof, why not register? It's fun and easy.

Another thing just hit me. Has anyone noticed that the Lucian's are now using the same codes as the Janus? Does this mean they have infultrated, are going to join forces, or are just plain dumb (or unlucky with their code man)?

I think we will only get a card that links Fiske and Ned in the third wave of cards. To me, if they reveal the connection too early, some people may lose interest.

By the way, thanks katsmom for the advice.

I think parents may loose interest. After all, those cards are expensive. I mean, I only spent $70 to get all 60 of them Shocked

I think the kids will stay interested. Especially when Scholastic publicises it's first winner of cash! Kind of like a "if he can do it I can. Mom, Buy me more cards!"

A wrinkle in time

Tonights bedtime story was the start of A wrinkle in Time If this 39 clues turns out to be love I think I'm going to take Scholastic to court! Laughing Laughing

Power, energy, evolution (yes pip i do read the posts) why not love? That is an even greater power isn't it?

And when I start writing things like that it is time for me to go to bed. Night all.

On the inside cover/first page of OFN, where we see the notes spell GIDEON - is there something to the ARy or A4y letters/numbers at the upper left of the glass fragment?
I looked at it last night with poor light - forgot to check it out this morning again.
