whaaa... ok I redid the special card section to display by Code rather than number. In that range, the numbers are all over the place.

So, it shows by Code, then virtual number (the card # as it appears online), any physical card number that contained that code, and the titles (or variants if they exist on multiple physical card #'s), along with the card specific info and links.

401 and 413 are the exception - both links show the same info, but for different card #'s. The rest, I think we can assume that if there's a page for the card number, they'll have different codes to unlock them. Even 406 and 410 are different - one's UK and one's sponsored by an independent seller.

So - physical cards found, summaries in the Phys.# column.

Need to verify:
* Was a physical card with #405 found? Or was it the #2 card that unlocked the #405 online? (does a physical 405 exist?)
* number 401/413, and 400/416 each had a physical card with those numbers, yes?
(I haven't scanned back in this thread, again, for the above info)

TheRealPip - can you scan your card so we can compare with the #410?

I picked up a Surveillance card from Borders Bookstore with the #2 on it...but when entered into my online collection, it shows as card #405. Haven't seen any physical cards with 400 numbers yet...and I've purchased 12 packs, lol.

Scan of 406

Unfortunatly, I don't have a scanner, nor do I have access to one. However, I can tell you it looks exactly like the virtual version of the card (calling out the 406 in the card number spot and on the back it has the following text in a white box... similar to the Borders card... "Brought to you by your local independent bookseller").

I also have a copy of the Borders card, and it labeled #2 (and not #405).

I am still waiting on my Library Edition of this book, and will report on any differences.

My surveillance camera codes are 22FC46MJX2 and 237DRWJJX2... use them and pass them on!

OH YEAH!!!

Ok - I have discovered a 7th card.

The good news is that it is a new code.

The bad news is it screws up all our theories.

I have secured a copy of a signed copy of the book. During that signing, Mr Riordan (or maybe the bookstore, not sure) gave away 1 free card. The card number is 406. It is the same card as 410 (same picture, name, etc), BUT IT HAS A DIFFERENT CODE!!!!

I plugged it into my 39 clues car list and now I have two enteries, one for each card (as opposed to two copies of the same card.

Here is the updated list of the 7 known 4--+ cards:

Card 404: The Spy Kit - G69CTWHC9T (Walmart Card)
Card 405: Surveillance - G69CKR3K9T (Borders Card)
Card 406: Natalie's Strategy - G69DMK929T (Independent Bookseller)
Card 407: The Underdogs - G69GJPMM9T (Hastings)
Card 410: Natalie's Strategy - G69D22369T (Indie Card UK)
Card 413: Ninja Boy - G69K3JP99T (Angus & Robertson)
Card 416: The Bookworm - G69GF9HN9T (Angus & Robertson bookstore)

Card 406 and 410 seem to be the same card, except they have different card numbers and codes (note the DIFFERENT code). They unlock seperate (but duplicate) cards in my card list.

Have fun with this info everyone.

Actually that doesn't screw up anything this is EXACTLY what've figured out. re-read my post above.

EVEN BETTER!!! It confirms that we can get both codes for each version of the cards, whatever the country it comes from.

So we need 16 codes total.

7 down, 9 to go.

p.s. Note that your Card labeled 2 is a misprint error. If not a misprint it's an error for sure.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, the Library book version does not contain Cards. This is why it's called library version.

TheGMan, re: the #2 - that's why I was making an effort to confirm and reconfirm the #2. The printed #2 has been confirmed by at least two people from at least two places, and full boxes, not individual cards.

My conclusion was that either there was a big misprint for the retailer (I still favour this) or the #2 is actually right (which is a very strange anomaly)

Regarding all the other numbers, have you found somewhere that's actually confirmed the similar pairs? If so, please link so I can officially update the wiki list.

I thought that you could tell this from the information on the photo credits page: http://www.the39clues.com/info/photo-credits

The cards with the same photo credit, so far, have been duplicates.

sure, but different numbers (and that's where I got the intiial information for the list)... don't want to assume anything until it's confirmed with physical cards (that's how we ran into the problem in the first place =P)
There are many elements to a card that may be different even though everything else is the same.

Not saying it's wrong, I was just wondering if all those numbers had been confirmed by anyone who got the cards.

Note that just the fact that 406 and 410 are the exact same card but with a different name and number kinda gives a good hint that I was right since I've posted my theory even before someone came up with the 406 card. (I had predicted that these were a Match and it also fits with the calculations I made using the Online Card sorting and elimination logical process and using the Photo credits).

So I guess until a 2nd match shows up we can't really confirm my "duplicate" theory but I believe I'm on the right track.

Specially that now I can confirm that the spots for the 12 cards for book 2 and 3 are not yet available online. So there are 9 spot left for 400s cards.

Let see if someone can come up with other no. or screenshots.

As for that No.2 card It's got to be a misprint...I don't see why there would be 2x no 2. cards...maybe it is suppose to be card 411, since 405 and 411 are suppose to be the same card...(if you follow me theory)

Lets keep track of confirmed physical cards

For the benifit of those trying to collect the physical cards, I am trying to keep a running list of confirmed facts. Here is what I have so far:

Card 404: The Spy Kit - G69CTWHC9T - Walmart - no physical card confirmed
Card 405: Surveillance - G69CKR3K9T - Borders - physical card confirmed in US (card is printed as #2 not #405)
Card 406: Natalie's Strategy - G69DMK929T Independent Booksellers - physical card confirmed in US
Card 407: The Underdogs - G69GJPMM9T - Hastings - physical card confirmed in US
Card 410: Natalie's Strategy - G69D22369T - no physical card confirmed
Card 413: Ninja Boy - G69K3JP99T - Angus & Robertson - physical card confirmed in Australia
Card 416: The Bookworm - G69GF9HN9T - Angus & Robertson - physical card confirmed in Australia

I am sorry if I have missed something in this chain of posts, so please correct me if I have missed something. I am especially courious if someone can confirm:

- is there a physical version of the Wal-MART card (as I understand it, the code was in some magazine)?
- Is there a physical version of card 405 that actually is numbered 405 (and not #2 like I have)?
- Is there a physical version of card 410, and if so where did that card come from?

Obviously, I am also very interested in the other 400+ codes.

My opinion on the 405/2 Borders card... I am guessing that the 400+ cards might have originally been a "bonus set" and so numbereed seperatly. Some or all of these cards might have been printed prior to the desition to number them in line with the main set. (or it could be a mistake)

For those that are interested, I have spare copies of 405 (with a #2 on the card) and 407 that I would trade for other 400+ cards (I also have my personal copy of 406).

Thanks in advance

I was in Walmart (Canada) the other day and they are not yet selling the books or the cards.

Library Version vs Retail Version

I got my Library Edition today and, as promissed, I am reporting on the differences.

As expected, there are no cards with the Library Edition. I did expect to have a "reusable" code to allow you (or anyone who checks it out from the library) to load in the 6 cards virtually you get with the retail version; but no such code was in the book.

The cover looks like like the retail version does with the card in it (however there isn't a window, it is just printed on the front cover of the book).

Unexpectedly, there is no DJ with the Library Version. I expected the Library Edition to come with a DJ (sort of like the Lemoney Snicket Library Editions do). However no DJ is present.

Obviously, it is more "sturdy"... better bound (so it doesn't wear out after being frequently rereads).

I haven't read this book, but it does appear to be the same text wise (other than some differences on the copyright page to indicate it is a Library Edition). This includes the same code within the page numbers in the middle of the book.

Hope this hielps

400+ cards

I just went to Angus and Robertson (australian bookstore chain)and asked for bonus cards.

What did i get?

Four bonus cards, but we have most of the codes.

I did get, however, two new cards:

#402 - The Pint-Sized Assasin (G69GJ9TF9T)
#403 - Clue Hunter's Best Friend (G69JTFHR9T)

Hope this helps you all!

Thanks!

Thanks for the codes. FYI, "Clue Hunter's Best Friend" is actually titled, "The Pup" in my online collection.

Interesting...

So does mine, but the card reads as "Clue Hunter's Best Friend" in physical edition.

Strange much?

Re: 400+ cards

Thanks for the new codes!

Quote:
#402 - The Pint-Sized Assasin (G69GJ9TF9T)

This code unlocked for me #415 - "The Smallest Assassin"

Quote:
#403 - Clue Hunter's Best Friend (G69JTFHR9T)

And this code unlocked for me #414 - "The Pup"

I'm in the States; could we be seeing country-related differences here?
