Re: card 418?

I've been surfing the net (aka researching) and came across this website:
http://viraladx.com/The_39_Clues.html It says there is a card 418 called the babysitter. All you hacker pros have a go. I'm on xp and can't do anything. I won't be back on an old ie browser until mid Janyuary. I'm passing the buck here, but I know you all will forgive me.

Who knows. Maybe they are looking for an actress to be the babysitter (aka Nellie Gomez). If you go to Nellie's "Cliqueme" site on the 39 clues website, you will see a monkey instead of a human being.

P.S: I wonder why they put a monkey's picture in the first place?

 Surveilence camera code theory (revised)
Could it be true.......?

It could be a curse because the card says to use it to spy on "other cahills" which could mean that the more codes we put in, the more people that could be spying on us.

On the other hand, it could be a gift. We may be able to use these codes to spy on any other cahill of our choice and sort of hack into their account.

I don't think that adding these codes will be detrimental to us in any way for two reasons:
1: I don't think that scholastic wants to have to remember where the original codes came from (whose user got the card first) Rolling Eyes
2: Why would you want to spy on these people anyways????? what good would it do you??? it seems to me that all you could do would be to watch them do missions, or now that i think about it, the only thing you could really do would be to steal cards from them Very Happy . i still don't think that's likely.

The "spying" could just be access to the family branch archives of those you've passed your bug to. And it wouldn't be hard to track where the original card code came from as this is all being handled by computers. Plus, if they didn't want to waste storage space with where the card came from, they can just look up who has card #2 in their "My Cards" collection under that same code since only the original code owner would get cards 2-6 from it.

These curse/gift/nuisance or what ever it is camera codes could be dangerous to us. According to what i understand, the cahills have been backstabbing each other for hundreds of years now.

This could mean that these camera codes may allow us to backstab others and may allow us not only to see their branch's top secret information, but maybe STEAL their cards too.

Since some cards are clues, maybe we could steal them too.

For example, take the 39 clues so far.

In the story, the clues themselves can be stolen if their finders are not careful. Amy and Dan could have lost their first clue in MoB at the church to the Kabras but since Amy and Dan are the heroes of the story, they managed to hang on to it.

Hopefully im wrong and the camera codes are just a way to make the series more popular, but seeing that this is the cahill family, my theory may be unfortunately (or fortunately) right.

I'm highly doubtful of the idea of card stealing. Mostly because this is a game for kids and it's parents who buy the cards in the first place. It'd be a guaranteed boycott and letter writing campaign if they allowed for some innocent nine year old kid (like my niece) to have their cards stolen by some jerk of a thirty-one year old (like myself) who's just doing it for fun (which I'd totally do Twisted Evil ). It'd be a blood bath.

I thought along the lines of card stealing around 10 pages ago. I agree with you though. Can you imagine the fallout if a 31 year old man who is unelligable for prizes stole a card from 9 year old Johnny? Bad show Scholastic, they would never live that one down. My theory is that as we go along we can use them to spy on the other players--1 time for each card. So maybe if say card number 193 is ultra rare and I don't have it, I can take a look at it for a few minutes using a survellience card.

Someone posted on yahoo that they thought book 4 would be in Australia. If we look here http://www.the39clues.com/cahillweb/article/jonah-wizard-interview-in-teenlyfe-magazine you can see that Jonah says he's off to Sydney. Maybe that is where they will find the next clue in book 3. Hmm, gangster Jonah, penal coloney. That fits! Laughing Know any famous Australians (besides Crocodile Dundee?) And wasn't Heinrich arrested in Australia?

Yeah, I think so. But the thing is, I noticed something about the locations visited by Amy and Dan (and their wacky relatives).

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Paris, that was visited in MoB was a Lucian base. Vienna, that was in OFN was a Janus base. And in the same book, Amy and Dan were going to visit Tokyo, a Tomas base, for the next clue. Based on this, I think that the next place they will visit after Tokyo is either Cairo or somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle. These two places are Ekaterina strongholds.

Based on my observations that Amy and Dan visited cities with Cahill bases, I think that Cairo or the Bermuda Triangle will be visited in one of the books in the future rather than Australia.

I know it will be a bloodbath if the camera cards can allow a 30 year old to steal from a 10 year old, but a crazy thought came to me...

What if the Scholastic people uses the date of birth we entered when we signed up to allow only the 6-14 year olds to steal. Those that are too old may only get to peek into the branch's secrets or as katsmom said, look at another's card for a few minutes.

I know a 50 year old could just enter his or her age as 10 but who knows? Scholastic may have a system to catch those type of cheaters.

In the end, I have to admit that katsmom theory is more plausible but I still like the idea of stealing other people's cards. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

(Even if my theory comes through, I'm too old to have a chance to steal. Crying or Very sad Sad )

Alice, I know you mentioned card #11 http://www.the39clues.com/cahillweb/article/11-rembrandtrsquos-secret before, I think we can safely guess that it is choice #3 now. Wink
Now, can we work out what each room was?

Ack! Are you speaking in code? Are you going to make me go back and look at what theories I posted on card #11?
EDIT:

The page you get when you solve card #11, http://www.the39clues.com/cahillweb/article/11-rembrandtrsquos-secret lists 3 proposed designs for the new Janus Italian HQ.
Is this what you were referring to? Yes, when I was reading the 2nd book, I recalled the futurist rendering and figured that what was being described. By rooms, you intend to work out what each of the empty rooms on the sketch should be? I will pass on that. Rolling Eyes

Since you mentioned this card. It is one of the ones that does not fall into the naming convention that someone (sapagoo?) mentioned earlier. I still think that there is something to uncover there. I don't recall Rembrandt being mentioned in 1FN. It seems if he was going to be, this would have been the one he would be mentioned in.

Use of cards

I'm going to attempt to make notes on each of hte cards used. No crying if I get it wrong, but do correct me.
1. Purpose unknown, lot shared
2.Dan
3, paris (clue 1)
4. titanic clue
5. ?
6. venice fits with card 19
7?
8?
9? mentioned in book 2
10? mentioned in book 2
11 book 2 venice strong hold entrance
12?
13? mentioned wth lan nguyan card 21
14?
15?
16?
17?
18?
19?fits with card 6
20 clue 5
21 new clue hunter
22?
23?
24?
25?
26? mentioned in book 2
27? mission 1
27?
28?
29?
30?
31?
32?

Now if all of these have a connectin and use by the end of book 3, we haven't seen much at all yet. I think that they might carry over into other books. There are just way too many unused cards for them to only be used with book 3
