what happened to people using their own brains Alice?

You mean, like, if they choose not to roll over the spoiler box? Rolling Eyes
Exactly!

You can't get the clue without charming the snake, which is totally different from being able to enter the answer to a puzzle that you are too lazy to solve.

look I'm not for handing out answers either. I just don't like being told what to do. When I first joined this forum it was because I needed help with a card. I wasn't being lazy I just for the life of me couldn't see the stupid answer. I 'm just thankful that someone was gracious enough to help, and not use their knowledge to exert some stupid form of control over me that they obviously lack in their own lives .

Shocked I should probably not respond.

First of all, if we agree that we shouldn't be handing out the answers, what is the problem? I can't control anyone's behavior, but does that mean that we shouldn't encourage certain standards on the forum? So, I guess you are angry at me for not being a very good ... motivator? Is that it? You do not know me well enough to judge my actions. Are you trying to psycho-analyze me? Should we create a new thread for this?

I may not be the most gracious poster, but the intent is to help without creating a free-for-all.

I just think that everyone (not just you) has a choice weather or not to help and just because someone makes a choice that differs from yours doesn't give you (or hunter6 or whoever) the right to try and intimidate them.

I take offense at your characterization of my comments as intimidation. I think that you owe me a public apology. I will refrain from any analysis of why you feel the need to make such allegations in public. Unless it is an apology, please make any further comment via PM.

TRAIN STATION

In Mission 2, on board #10 (Train Station), my eyes were immediately drawn to the number 0741 (above MIB's head). I wonder if this will be of any significance. It looks photoshopped to me. Any ideas?

Thanks for everyone's help with the "number issue" in Snake Charmer. I still can't play, but will fiddle with it more tomorrow.

I'm going to try Snake Charmer on Safari. The site does work faster there than on IE.

I just finished playing Snake Charmer on Safari. It took 22 tries on IE for me and my brother to do it to get his clue, but it only took 5 on Safari. I think the game just needs a faster browser and ultimate concentration. Wink

If not for control or intimidation then what was your intention?

My impression was that Alice was trying to help. You've seriously got way too much attitude about this.

I saw Alice's post before I did mission 2, yet (because Alice did the correct thing in making the spoiler hidden) I was able to go play mission 2 without any influence over what I was going for.

Calm down, you are overreacting to someone being excited about something fun.

My issue isn't the way that Alice chooses to help. It's that she expects everyone to do it her way. And If you don't then she (and others) make comments about it.

As far as an apology who does she think she is? Queen Elizabeth.

And for handing out answers like I said I don't like to do it. I usually just choose to ignore the question. I don't make a point of making them feel stupid just for asking. From now on everytime anyone tells someone not to ask a question I'm going to answer it just out of spite. Yep I admitted that I'm spiteful. Childish I know oh well. Twisted Evil

I thought I was asking Alice to calm down and let the rest of us help if we choose to.

That may have been your intent, but you failed to explain that. You should be able to see that you didn't make your point strongly from the facts that Alice felt affronted at what you were saying and how I thought you were just being belligerent.

If all you're asking for is that any person can offer help, there's no problem there. Just don't be surprised if some people help by pointing to where the info is and some people help by finding it for the person asking.

Both have their place, but let's be honest here; most everything has already been noted somewhere in our little section here on Unfiction. Pointing out the search function makes the most sense since the person will be armed for future needs rather than just being helped out on the one.

I seriously don't care which camp you prefer, but you're coming across as someone with a chip on their shoulder.

Wind Lane: Well Said! and it goes back quite a while. But that's neither here nor there.

Not only are the answers for all of the cards available on Unfiction, a judicious bit of googling can get you the answers as well. I like the search function advice. It keeps the same questions from coming up again and again.

My thought is if you are going to post an answer to someone who asks for it, that's fine...but do it in a pm. I agree with Alice about using a bit of the grey matter. It never hurt anyone. While giving out the answers without giving a hint first deprives people of using that grey matter. Having said that, I was mortified to see that I posted an answer to a card sans spoiler unintentionally. It happens, but many times, it can be avoided.

Final thought, this is a game. This is the internet. We don't *really* know eachother. Why get upset over things.
