Combination of Cards
Combination of Cards

Okay, I am new to this, so I apologize if I am not posting properly in advance.

I believe I have read through all the pages. I have a few comments.
1st. There is no way 8-12 year olds can figure out all these clues, let alone afford the time online to investigate as appears required. Which is sad, my 9 year old is loving this and we are working together reading the book and playing the "game.
2nd. I believe the card combinations people have listed previously in this blog make a bit of sense when compared to combination of images you receive when you click the key on the main page of the site (you get images and the key points to a card). I thought that interesting.
3rd. Anyone notice the M on the Cahill key? Any thoughts on what that might imply?

Thanks

I certainly didn't mean to imply that this age group can't do it (my 9 year old figured them out as well) but just seeing the posts here, and the 400 card series - how would he know those were out there? We bought a book at a store that doesn't hand them out.
He doesn't spend alot of time on the computer and he is in bed by 9:30 on school nights. I just hope the competition is fair for that age group as a great deal of adults are in the "game".

I'm only noticed that recently. I wonder if it has anything to do with Madrigal.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Solve card 3 (one of the 6 cards that came with the book)

Sad

Bummer. I still don't have the 6 cards. After reading a library copy of Maze of Bones, I've decided that I will continue to borrow the next 9 books from my local library while getting the digital cards from Scholastic. I have sent a mail-in entry to Scholastic but I'm still waiting for them to send me the code(s). I eagerly check the mail everyday but so far nothing. Sad Is anyone else doing this too (i.e., mailing SASE to Scholastic for digitized cards instead of spending $$ on the book and/or card pack)? I'm just curious to see if anyone has received anything yet so that (1) I know it works and (2) I can stop feeling so anxious.

LOL. This whole 39 clues thing makes me anxious. Very Happy

I mailed in a request on September 13th and have not received any card codes as of yet.

Sad I wonder if I'll get a response by emailing them (anyone know the email for Scholastic?).

By the way, huge typo in my previous post. It's supposed to say "I've" (instead of "I'm").

True, but not all of the kids in the age bracket will be as computer savvy as you are. Anyway, I like the concept, it is very fun and interesting. Good Luck!

That could be it. Or Madame ; but Madrigal sounds more like it. Thanks

Interesting theory, but she also has French heritage - Paris is a Lucian stronghold (message from The Game "inbox")...

It is also a song for two or three unaccompanied voices, developed in Italy in the late 13th and early 14th centuries.

the way I see it, all the stuff we're figuring out here that may be beyond the age bracket, is either pointless and will be proven fruitless, or just for fun figuring out how things work and not really applicable to the game at all.

srsly, the game for 9-12 agegroup or so. There won't be things here that only adults can figure out if it's essential to the game. That's not to say it's not fun, but I don't think we're really uncovering anything else... we're waiting for things to open up for us at this point. ie, clue #2, which isn't yet available Razz when it is, it'll be..relatively..obvious Wink

 ya thats true

thats true it would be to complicated for children to figure that stuff out that makes sense they wouldnt do that so ya probably the clues will probably be pretty easy

and thx to gilbo and cengiz (and if maggie swaps) i will only need cards 56 and 63 (but i might need more if maggie doesnt swap)

i have a few extra cards i can swap for em email me if u have them and havent used code

I would have done the same thing. This way the random code doesn't spell anything inapproprate and you have some parent complaining that the cards are corrupting their child. No vowels means no words can be made, even by accident.

My surveillance camera codes are 22FC46MJX2 and 237DRWJJX2... use them and pass them on!

I would never have thought of that. Good idea.
