No, its not that it is taking longer to load - I have left it for hours and all I get is the revolving globe, so it must be just me.

I have tried from several different PC's so it isn't a cookies problem. I'll get onto Scholastic support to see if they have any suggestions.

I'm using XP. I don't think it's browser or OS related. It locked up while attempting to load new ally cards. I didn't change my OS or use a new browser.

I can log in with different accounts, and it works fine on the other accounts. - I think it's on the the39clues.com server's side.

 		I wonder if it's because they didn't expect people to add as many ally cards as they have - underestimating the code sharing that's gone on.

Yeah, i tried to log in a on a mac too on firefox and safari, doesn't work. Also on vista, firefox, explorer, and chrome don't work with it. And i even went in and downloaded all new flash players.

I would LOVE for that to be the answer.
I added 159 allies, and have 175 other cards - for a total of 334 cards.
Plus they tend to show the 3 cards I don't have yet.
so 337 cards total.
There are 21 cards per page..
336 cards is 16 pages of cards....

So, they could have a bug where only 16 pages of cards can be displayed...
which means 158 allies is an upper limit!

I think I'll send this theory to scholastic.

Edit: e-mail sent. looks like Datango & soccerbeast have 156 allies, and 149 allies. maybe the limit is 15 pages (315 cards: 178 regular cards plus your agent card plus 136 other allies) and any allies over 136 crashes the system

Also, while i'am ranting and raving about the 39 clues staff, mission 6 should be out today. it is 50 days before the next book or it's coming out tomorrow and it's coming out the exact middle of december!

Mission 6 should be out in about four days where I live.
I only got enough allies to get the highest ally medal available. After that I stopped. There's no medal for have 136 cards, so just stop. There's a moral here for all of us to learn.

I have tried this with Win XP Vista and Windows 7 - all fail to load properly.

[rant]Scholastic Customer Support are not very helpful either. Despite my suggestion that this is a server side problem they do not seem to have investigated this and have just suggested that I ensure cookies are enabled and that the flash plugin is installed. If I hadn't invested so much time and money I would be gone - sadly it may still come to this.[/rant]

 		My Cards Load Failure
As it appears that several players are now experiencing similar problems with 'My Cards' failing to load and the individual responses received from Customer Service being 'sub-optimal' it might be good to present them with a list of players user names to add weight to the case and hopefully get the issue escalated to a higher level.

If you are experiencing this problem and feel able to disclose your user name PM me and I will send the list to Scholastic.

I will update all those who reply with any response I receive from them.

It's better if everyone emails individually so that they have a number of emails all reporting the same problem rather than one email reporting the problem for several people.

It's also always better to fall on the side of caution when dealing with folks on the internet when children are concerned. Best to leave private information private.

I'm not saying you'd do something, just saying it's safer for all involved.

I starting having that problem on Thursday.

I tried asking scholastic support twice on Friday.
They told me to - "Log Out and log back in" followed by "you need to enter a 10 digit code from a book or a card".

I think they think I just started this last week.
I got up to 159 allies, and when attempting to add more cards (2 were "blocked") it locked up on me.
Let me know if you get anywhere. I'll make a third attempt with scholastic support before I get nasty and ask to talk to a developer.


I think you're getting an automated message. Their program scans for keywords and reproduces anything 'helpful' as the answer. I remember when AI had asked about the Prestige Meter, I had got an answer regarding Prestige cards. The best way to talk to a real guy is to not write anything in the Subject line of the mail.

I wasn't suggesting that individual emails shouldn't be sent to Scholastic, I think that they definitely should. However, as these are likely to be read by different support representatives who respond with not very helpful answers, if the issue can be presented as applying to several players rather than several individuals there is more chance that it will be escalated to a higher level.

I did say in my message that if players experiencing this problem "feel able to disclose your user name" with the issue of privacy in mind. The decision is therefore with the player whether they wish to disclose this information.

I appreciate your comments though.

I ran a test on my ekat account.
148 allies for a total of 326 cards worked fine.
It displayed 16 pages perfectly (although it took 20 seconds to load the first page)

After I added my 149th ally (for a total of 327 cards) it was unable to display the MY CARDS section.

But the cool thing is that my EKAT account went from a high level Lab Agent to a low level Inventor agent by adding 90 cards.

 		I got a response from tech support about the medals that aren't activating when they should, it was short.

Something like "We have our web coders looking into it."

Basically "We know the problems there and have no clue how long it will take to fix."


And you know what? I'm....okay with that. Smile
