I feel like such an idiot. I CANNOT FIGURE OUT THE THIRD MAGIC BOX. Can somebody please tell me what the answers are?

Add up the lines across.
Each line will come to a different value, that's not a bad thing.
Figure out what the range of numbers being used is; generally the lowest and highest numbers are on there.
The numbers missing from the range will have the same difference as the rows. (i.e. if row one = 27 and row two = 25, the two missing numbers from each row will be two apart just like the rows are.)

That should get you the answers.

Sapagoo's method will work for more difficult puzzles than we were given in this mission. Heck, It'd even work if you wanted to make your own magic square.

The puns actually spell out a message. Smile

It's a puzzle from one of the cards.

Mission 7 Magic Square

My solution to HE Wilfies is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
15
which seems to satisfy the magic square criteria but is not accepted.

Is this correct or am I in the wrong forest?

Oh come on! Fine! I realized that you could alter things in quote boxes. The reason I made such a large post is so I could change the stuff in it to get all of the code. I put in quite a few hints. I said in the post below it that the differences are clear. The hint said wild g chase on lines 9&10 because the puzzle below that had morse code and random letters was not the real puzzle. When I was thinking of puzzle ideas and I realized that you could change the quotes, I realized that people would skip past the real puzzle and try out the fake one. Sorry doodah. I didn't mean to basically yell. Laughing Smile Sad Crying or Very sad

These magic square puzzles all have their highest and lowest numbers on the grid and they all use a set of consecutive numbers.

If the numbers you're putting into the empty boxes fall outside of those parameters, you've got the wrong numbers and would have the wrong row total.

I can't remember which magic square the one you're talking about is. Is it the first one?

Yes, it is the first one which is:

8 1 ?
3 ? 7
? 9 2

I am entering
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
6 for row 1, 5 for row 2 and 4 for row 3 and 15 for the magic sum

but am receiving the 'Try Again' message.

My input seems to satisfy the criteria or am I missing something?

Not that I can see - it looks like you're doing everything right.

Lemme go check to see if I can get it to work again.

EDIT: Looks like you have to enter in the numbers that complete the magic square or else it won't accept your answer even when it's right.

Trying to enter in just the right answer for the row totals didn't work on any of them.
