My Theory;
Vespers are an elite group of non-Cahills. Arthur Trent and Broderick Wizard are most likely Vespers.

I saw that Isabel Kabra's maiden name was VESPER-Hollingsworth! Maybe the Vespers are the relatives of the Kabras? Or maybe they are a group of people with the Kabras. Or maybe they are the Kabras!

Hmm, maybe they're the ones who started that original fire that broke up the Cahills and they've married into the family as a way of further sabotaging them. That would allow for the Madrigals to be good guys (since they're the ones protecting the clues) while still having the other branches fear them since Madrigals can't reveal themselves to anyone for fear of being caught by the Vespers - a battle of two secret families behind the scenes over control of the 39 clues.

Alright, so I just got one of the new card packs. I noticed that on the man in black files, the animal on the front kind of looks like a combination of all the branches' mascost. Also, the card Isabel's Charms has a V on it in the same kind of calligraphy that the madrigal M has.
My theory on the Vespers: they were Olivia's family. They knew the Cahills were up to something, so they had Olivia marry Gideon. Ever since, they've married into the Cahill bloodline to try and win the Clues in secret.

and were jealous of his discovery, so they burnt down the house and killed Gideon. They then decided to mix with Cahills in order to

 		I agree with the Vespers idea about non-cahill/rivals because now that we know more about

, it tells us that it wasnt them who burned the house. it couldve been vespers.

Borderick Wizard is V. That obviously means Vesper. And Fiske didn't tell them everything. Why wouldn't he tell them about a rival family? I think the vespers are the side effects. Since I don't feel like reading the whole thing, it says they rebelled against the French king in 1282. When was the fire again. 22 generations back was it? That must have been more than 800 years ago. So what if that French king was a Cahill. And the Vespers, their lab rats, wanted revenge. And he found all the Clues. They wanted it. And it got lost again.

Ok, maybe it was before that. But how do you know the exact dates?
