The thing I don't get is there was still a man in black in the picture in book 1. And that has to be the the picture in all the books.

I think this was the original vesper.
Borderick Wizard is V. That obviously means Vesper. And Fiske didn't tell them everything. Why wouldn't he tell them about a rival family? I think the vespers are the side effects. I don't know, but if this (probably not) means anything: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sicilian_Vespers I think the Vespers are experiments. Lab rats. Since I don't feel like reading the whole thing, it says they rebelled against the French king in 1282. When was the fire again. 22 generations back was it? That must have been more than 800 years ago. So what if that French king was a Cahill. And the Vespers, their lab rats, wanted revenge. And he found all the Clues. They wanted it. And it got lost again.

Ok, maybe it was before that. But how do you know the exact dates?

It can't be because the fire happened in 1507

I also forgot that Vespers are only people married into the branches Example:
John Adams (Married to Abigail Adams, a Madrigal)

Actually, it does. Some people used to say that there would be 40 clues, not 39.
On the Help section, it says EVERY mission unlocks you a clue.
By the way, clue 31 is from mission 10 and clue 38 is mission 9. Mission 10 will be Clue 40 probably.

I think mission 10 has to do with mixing the clues all together in order to make what Gideon Cahill did.

Who says? Where in the books does it say that? 24 generations sounds like a long time. Where did 1504 come from?

then go under help and ask if there are 40 clues and it will tell you that mission ten does not unlock a clue

1507 you mean. Madeleines book has the year of the fire on it.

"In the year of our lord 1507, a terrible fire."[/quote]

I would guess book 10 gives us the process to mix them, and the "activate"
button. Then the 2 clues left are both missions.

No! On the Map click locations and it says one clue unknown for a book one for a mission! Goodness!

I've got two questions:
1 - How are Dan and Amy gonna get the 39 clues AND the quantity of each clue (i.e. one sprig of rosemary, one gram of melted amber)?
2 - How are we, the players, gonna get each clue's quantity?

Well, a lot of the clues came in that quantity when they found them, but I think with the wealth of ALL THE MADRIGALS they can SOMEHOW afford to buy them.

As for us, that's what I believe mission ten is about. Or maybe we already have pretty much all of them and our strongholds get them for us. Idk, but it continuously mentions how the competition is so rich.
