39 clues theory
My present theory on what the clues mean

My current theory is that it is a recipe for the fabled"philosopher's stone". Harry Potter doesn't have the copyright on it after all and it making gold and living forever would give you a bit of power.

Iron solute

The most common "iron solutes" are oxygen and water. Both react with iron to dissovle the iron into other chemical states, i.e. rust.

Both oxygen and water are in plentiful supply in air, and, sea water.

For the chemistry virgins: a solvent can dissovle a solute, eg. salt and water. salt is the solvent and water is solute, the new combination is a solution.

Iron can dissolve in an acid, eg. HCl (hydrocloric acid), however in this example iron is solvent and the acid is the solute.

I agree with tyty about the boost. Don't use the boost (space bar) because you don't have to finish this fast. You just have to finish it.
Also, there is a pause key in the lower right hand corner, if you need a break between levels.
It doesn't matter if you go from left to right, or right to left.
On level five, I go past the last three rings, and hit them going right to left. It's easier for me. ( on level 3 I do a loop before hitting the last hoop, so that I'm lined up better)

Ditto on submarine Level 5. That's how my son did it. It's definitely easier for kids... but he had trouble with that level until turning around and going the other direction on the last three rings.

I am in LOVE with The 39 Clues. I'm readin gthe book slowly, so it doesn't kill me too much that I have to wait until Dec. for the next one. Course, waiting until April for #3 is going to be horrid.

Anyway, tyty, you have to be patient. After all, the game is designed for children between the ages of 6 and 14 (hence why they're the only ones who can partake in the actual contest, which was disappointing but understandable to me). Those kids are in the middle of school now. They have homework and play with friends in the afternoon. It wasn't meant for avid ARGers like me, who check it five times a day just in case something new happens.

Which reminds me....... *runs off to check*

Madrigals

Madrigals are a group of people who know about the 39 clues and will do anything to find them first. Think of it this way:

Lucian = KGB -- Russia
Janus = MI6 -- England
Ekatrina = CSIS -- Canada
Tomas = CIA -- United States

We don't know who they are or how they are connected to the Cahills.

got my SASE back with codes

Greetings all,

Just a heads up. I got my SASEs I sent in back today with codes for 39 Clues. So, apparently their issue with these has been corrected. In case you are interested, there is nothing special about them. No fancy letterhead, no secret codes... just white paper and fixed width font telling you how to enter 16 codes into your account.

Said another way... no collectible items.

---
My surveillance camera codes are 22FC46MJX2 and 237DRWJJX2... use them and pass them on!

Were these SASEs that you sent in a long time ago, or where these that you sent more recently? I'm still wondering if I should give mine up for lost.

Hiya. I'm yet another newbe so apologies in advance for any faux pas...

Thought I'ld mention that the flag code for 'M' (white diagonal cross on blue background) in the Nessie Shack might be nothing more than just the Scottish flag as its a Scottish tourist place.

Also, with regards to the Madrigals, the 'Go To' information for card no. 61 (Secret: Carnival) says its a photo memento of 'All The Family' and there in the background is a figure dressed all in black... So I agree with the theory that the Madrigals ARE part of the family, and that the greatest power comes from all the four divisions being united.

With regards to Gordon Klose's bizar note: goat omega cotton candy 187 juice box *&@ I think this IS a coded message. I keep trying to make it start with "go to" but can't work out how the pattern would continue.

Finally, don't suppose anyone would like to exchange cards number 12 and 56 would they? I have many duplicates of just about all the others.

I came home to mine yesterday. I had mailed my request on Sept. 13th and had given up hope when I read the post about their "mailroom issues". I was surprised to see mine arrive. My guess is that your's should be coming soon. Smile
