i have tried everything with the score board code (well aparently i havent because its still unsolved) Very Happy. but in all the free time i had today i STILL couldnt figure it out

ps i need your guys's judgement on this: should i email scolastic and ask them to give us an answer?

Nooo - where's the fun in that. It is extremely unlikely that they would provide a solution anyway.

Perhaps we should collaborate to get this solved.

To avoid duplication of effort would a Googledocs doc with unsuccessful attempts help? or do you have a better suggestion?

well ive searched google like CRAZY and STILL no answer. but i was thinking maybe its not a code. maybe its just there. has anyone else thought of that yet?
ps datango that googledocs idea is a good one. if im wrong, then we should start one.

I was just thinking. Everyone here has solved the time code, right? Well, the key is on the same page as the scoreboard code, and the puzzle itself is in the Janus section of the book. What if a key exists for the scoreboard code somewhere in the Tomas section? It would make sense. I'm too lazy to carefully analyze every page of the Tomas section, though. I've only skimmed through it. Maybe if anyone here is more patient than me (which isn't saying much), they could go through the Tomas section and see if they can find hints.

Here are the puzzles I've solved thus far.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Madeleine Cahill's key: FIND THE SAFE DEPOSIT BOX
Ana Kosara's cipher: PROTECT GIDEON'S RING
Isabel Kabra's code: DOOMSDAY
Annie Mosey's puzzle: PROTECT THE SERUM AT ANY COST
Broderick Wizard's time puzzle: DAN IS A TARGET
Ekat letter code: DANGER! DANGER!

There are only four puzzles I haven't yet solved.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Morse code
Signal flags
Raoul Lufbery's Lucian code
Scoreboard code

I'm too lazy to solve the first two puzzles, and the third and fourth have me stumped.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

[spoiler]Lucian code is clue moved for safekeeping

I get every one except scoreboard.

Which puzzle has the answer NELLIE IS A TARGET? I only remember the puzzle which has DAN IS A TARGET as the answer (the time puzzle).

Question I don't know what you're talking about.

the scholastic forum says it's the puzzle on page 102 of the Black Book.

Ah. I didn't even realize that was a puzzle.

I looked at both the janus and tomas sections and I didn't find anything.

I'm back! My computers are all down from a virus and it has been that way for a few months. I may have made a breakthrough in the scoreboard code. When i was giving out the free cards(There will be more) my first puzzle was solved because of the 2 digit code that stays the same for each card. What if Cn9 refers to a group of cards that all have C at the beginning and n9 is the two digit identifier code. I can't check it out because of the computer situation. Also, ISN'T WISESALADIN1 ON THIS FORUM?!!!!! If you are, how did you get mentioned? It is good to be back and i'm sure you are thinking how is this message being sent? I am doing this on my iTouch. Bye/adios/ciao/shalom.

Here I am, here's the Black Book, and I must say, it's very interesting. I have already solved several of the puzzles, and I found the crest on Broderick's coat on page 173. At first glance, if I hadn't already known, I wouldn't have known it was even an F adorning the crest.

I do remember a puzzle on one of the Tomas cards that featured a scoreboard cipher. I'll take a look at that, and relate it to the new scoreboard puzzle.

I did see an error on page 186, though. It says the Janus used the Hagia Sophia to hide the alchemical symbol for lead. They hid the symbol for sulfur in the Sophia - not lead. The Tomas hid the symbol for lead in the tomb of Simón Bolívar.

the card related to the scoreboard code was no help for me. it might be help for you guys though.

F.Y.I one hint to help figured out the Black Book's scoreboard code is to remove any repeated letters. Or not...
