Damien Vesper

Because the puzzle on the inside of the cover (On the rim of the coin) says
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Damien is alive

And
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
He was burned in the Cahill house fire.

And he says that
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The burns were from many years ago

in the book.

Besides, why would the URL be called
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
/Damien if it weren't about him?

thats great thinking, but her was born in the mid 1400s. there is no way he could be alive!!!!!

OH MY GOD. Open the book, mmmkay? Look on the rim of the coin. Solve the code.

The big gold circle. The shield. The medusa. What ELSE can I call it?

ohai

So I didn't get The Medusa Plot early like the last two books (in fact, I got it a day late), but hey, at least I got it! Fantastic book. They're really taking the series to new and frightening levels with this book. Lots of risks taken, lots of exciting new characters and new sides to our existing characters - this book is indeed the whole package.

My biggest complaint is that the whole "Isabel has been freed from prison" element of the story was barely touched on. There was so much that could've been done with that and it just seemed like a Big Lipped Alligator Moment to provide the book with some momentary Kabra family drama. But nonetheless, a mind-blowing book.

I wonder how A King's Ransom will hold up?

I have to say, I'm actually quite surprised by the fact that I haven't worked on any of the puzzles on the books or cards. I only did the ones in the mission. I haven't even bought the Marco Polo Heist card pack yet! I can see I'll have to work my way back into the world of the 39 Clues slowly.

I should get the book now and take a crack at those puzzles.

I totally agree with you! Isabel should be discussed more in the first book, given the sway she held during the Clue Hunt. Just cant wait for The King's Ransom too, a lot of unanswered questions in The Medusa Plot which was full of the suspense and mystery that drew me in to this series in the first place. i also haven;t got the Card Pack, but getting it soon! Funny there was no real mention of the purpose Gideon's ring in TMP, dont you think? I thought there will be some clue as to its true purpose.

Ah yes, that too. Given how much it's been built up in the Black Book and in Vespers Rising, I hope it isn't just dropped like some other things. Karachi I could forgive, but Gideon's ring would be a terrible thing to let go of.

Hear, hear! Can you imagine if Scholastic decides to provide ''closure'' for Karachi and the ring by saying, ''Amy and Dan's flight made a stopover at Karachi for refueling while on the way to Location X (Insert random location here). While Amy was in the airport's toilet, she unknowingly dropped Gidon's ring into the toilet bowl and flushed it away. Amy and Dan left Karachi an hour later, not knowing they made the worst mistake in their Cahill history...'' Laughing

Now that would be just taking the piss. XD

Oh, I just thought of something. What if Karachi is a Vesper base? Arthur Trent is a confirmed former Vesper, so it would make sense for he and Hope to be there. Also, Isabel is a possible Vesper, so it's also possible Arthur and Hope never went to Karachi at all and her mentioning it was merely a slip of the tongue that, luckily, Amy and Dan seemed to forget about.

Hmm... Good point there. Makes sense since Isabel was horrified to learn that Amy and Dan supposedly broke into the Karachi stronghold. Who knows? maybe we may have another showdown with Isabel in the finale of this series at Karachi after revealing that Isabel may be actually be Vesper Two, Four or Five. Very Happy

I just realised something. In the Marco Polo Heist, it said Seven failed his mission. Could it be that the Council of Six was once the Council of Seven?
