Thank you for the first 4-400 cards! They work. Are these physical cards, or electronic cards? If they are e-cards, do you have a link?

EDIT--didn't see the post. So now it's only 408-409, 412? is that right? Finding the cards is almost as much fun as finding the clues!

yep, listed on the wiki... so we're just missing codes for 408, 409, and 412.

And confirming: physical cards with the same code were found for 401 and 413, and 400 and 416? (that is, physical cards were reported in Australia numbered 401 and 413 with the same code, and 400 and 416 with the same code?)

It's possible that these 400-403 codes are virtual 'fixes' if indeed the entire set of cards there were mis-printed as 400-403; so there may not be correct physical 400-403 cards. At least until the next major printing spree =P

Well, I am right now holding cards printed 400-403 (names to match the virutal 400-403 card names, for example Bookworm with an Attitude) that have codes that unlock 413-416. These came from Aulstrailia. As I understand it, there are also cards that are printed 413-416 (however I personally can't confirm this, nor can I confirm where they came from.... can anyone?).

Thebruce, I actually though you had some/all of the cards actually printed 413-416 (and if you have any spares, I have extra 405s -printed as 2- and an extra 407 to trade).

Just are opinion, and we will repeat: 400-403 are not misprints, Scholastic did this intentionally for some purpose of their own. We agree with you that they are Virtual. It wouldn't surprise us that Scholastic themsleves issued these cards. Just are opinion.

Of course Scholastic issued these cards. 39 Clues is owned by Scholastic and they issued and printed all the cards. What 39 Clues cards do you beleive are not issued by Scholastic?

Why do you believe that Scholastic did this on purpose? What possible reason could there be for Scholastic to print cards that were intentionally incorrect? Why do you believe that card 405 (that is printed as 2) is a misprint but you beleive that these cards that are printed with the wrong code are not a misprint? If you got a #46 "Poison Ring" in a card pack, but when you typed the code on the card into the website it unlocked some other card, wouldn't you think that was an error (especially if the folks from Scholastic went on record saying that card 46 and the card it unlocked online are not required to help find any of the 39 clues... I use this example because Scholastic has gone on record, saying that none of the 400+ promo cards are in any way required to obtain any of teh 39 clues)?

Also, what do you mean that "We agree with you that they are Virtual'. What exactly are you agreeing with (and who are you agreeing with)? I don't think that 413-416 are virtual only (we have people who actually have the physical cards, such as thebruce). As for 400-403, I don't know if they are virutal only or if there are phyical copies yet (we need to wait for the responce from littlewood's mom on this). However, based on the fact that she has all 4 in one shot, I am leaning to the idea that there are physical cards for these and that these cards were all obtained at one place (if they were virtual only I don't think we would be seeing all 4 at once from one source).

Whoa, don't get all steamed up! We are with you on at least 90% of what you've contributed on this forum. It's good stuff! Now to this time: All cards have been distributed by retailers, bookstores etc. (Borders, Angus & R, Amazon, Indies, a London "kids newsletter", a Walmart "All You" magazine, etc. Just about everyone except Scholastic themsleves. We, like about 99%, believe Scholastic reserved the 1st 4 cards for themselves and to promo something in their own interests. We could be wrong just like you, but we're all here for you and we hope you are there for us in this GIGANTIC BIG PUZZLE. Happy Hunting! Hey, just think what of ruckus Book 2 is going to offer? And then-------8 MORE BOOKS! Oh my!

Please no one yell. I have searched the web with every concievable combination and have not come up with anything for the 3 missing cards. It is my opinion that they might be physical cards not issued in hte US. remember, they are also running this in Singapore and Malaysia. Maybe the caards have been issued there. Now, I know one is listed as Walmart UK, and one as Meijer (Ohio?) Just because we have fiddled the html codes to get the clues, doesn't mean the cards have been issued yet.

A while back someone asked if anyone had copies of the virtual cards? How do we load hte ones we have?

Wiki bruce is missing some photos of cards. Are you missing these, and would you like a photo of them?

Is there anyone who has scans of all the 400 cards. I know they aren't needed to play the game, but we don't get them at all in HK and I would love to see what they look like.

the 4 new codes

Anyone happen to notice what happens when you click the go button on the 4 new cards we just got. it appears to enter you into some sort of sweepstakes. http://www.the39clues.com/cahillweb/article/Scholastic-Book-Fairs-US-Sweepstakes

Forgive me if this was already posted I get bored with all the conspiracy theories about where the cards came from and who issued them i don't really think it's important so I just skim through them.

p.s. if you read the link above it tells you where the cards came from

I don't understand what you think the puzzle is. It is more like a hunt. The first 4 cards are a promo for Scholastic. It says as much when you load the cards (see the rules for the Scholastic Book Fairs The 39 Clues Sweepstakes).
EDIT: Er... yes... what Dragongirl said... I obviously take too long to compose my posts. Embarassed

BTW, have you noticed that in many of your posts, your tags are uneven? If you do a "preview" before you submit, you can see that and fix it with a well-placed closing
. Smile

Hey did you know on Page 4 (Sep) on this forum MAGGIE introduced us to the 400's. We're on Page 51 now & this puzzle hasn't been solved yet. All others have long been solved. Thanks MAGGIE!

I'm not entirely sure of the point of your reply. None of my questions have been answered.

I got the 400-403 cards at my son's book fair in Reno. They are physical cards.

. Smile
You're very observant. I wish I had the time to notice these things. Since you did, I'll simply write this: I'll write something, rushed most of the time, check with my kids, and ask how they would change it. No response in the beginning, but now we're getting some where. So expect some more of this for quite a while. I'm just trying to take advantage of any aspect of this Book/Game that I can for my Kids.
