Anyone else find it interesting that over 107 million yen was deducted from the sub-total and marked as "various"...that's close to a 1/3 of what they made in 3rd quarter. I wonder if Tag is siphoning off profits from the other drilling stations to fund something ongoing at Chuai?

I suppose various can mean operating costs, payroll, overhead, etc...but it seems like a lot to me.

I doubt T.W.B. works on one of the stations. It's more likely he works at Tagruato HQ, but he knows whats going on.

Would someone working on one of the stations have access to Tagruato's financial records for all of the stations?

It will be interesting to see if Tagruato updates their Investor Publications page with some doctored numbers.

As a point of reference, look here...

http://www.iraqdirectory.com/DisplayNews.aspx?id=4662

Quote:
Kamal Avarraki, an official in the company, said it is expected that the production of the three wells dug by T.T. Opko will reach 75 thousand barrels per day.

My math might be way off here...

Three wells generate 75K per day, so that's about 25K per well.

Tag's numbers range from 2300 to 27000, and are not in thousands, because that doesn't jive with their financial calculations. So those are a raw count of barrels.

This report is for the QUARTER apparently ("3rd fiscal quarter", which doesn't coincide with the date of 12/2), which means they ain't drilling for squat. Even if this was for a day of activity, the results are not very stellar.

This means one of two things:

1) These numbers are for the quarter, in which case the whistleblower's comment is referring to *ALL* stations and the fact that they're hardly generating anything. The fate of Chuai is then unknown; we don't know if it's online or not.

2) These numbers are for a day, in which case the whistleblower's referring to Chuai specifically. Then, the fact that he mentions that there's no oil in Chuai implies that Chuai is ONLINE. There's been speculation that Chuai might not be online because of a problem on the station; I don't think that's the case. I think Chuai is functioning fine, but not for what people think.

Anyone consider the last two letters in the mystery word:

pseunmoisuf ---

....UF?
As in...UnFiction?

Maybe a subtle or not-so-subtle joke aimed at this forum...

I wonder if the people creating this stuff are thinking as in-depth when creating this stuff as we are when analyzing it. Razz

Yeah, I also think its been up and running...but Tagruato dosen't want anyone to know...communications blackout, no updating their website, etc. They're looking for something, but it ain't oil!

More random speculation from a noob.
Of course it is.....

Just a hunch here from someone who hasn't done one of these before, but I figured I'd try and contribute. I know people have anagramed the heck outta that pseunmoisuf thing.

I figured there might be one more thing that can be done with that. I figured it's possible it could be a cryptograph. So, I went to an online cryptograph unscrambler. It ran for almost ten minutes, but it came up with only one word: Foundations.

It's probably nothing, but there it is. This is still pretty fun for a marketing ploy. Laughing

Quoting myself is cool.

This is obviously a reference to one of the drilling rigs. One was built on an area that contains no oil, and our Whistleblower theorizes that Tagruato knew this before building the rig. This means that the rig was built to drill for something else or for some other secretive reason. *NOT to drill for oil*

I have a funny feeling the guys at Chuai may have stumbled upon ol' GrumpyPants...In all likelihood they're obviously setting up a front with the station to go probing for something else. Seabed nectar? GrumpyPants? Aliens? Looks like we've got some more sleuthing to do. Twisted Evil

Props on the find, and props on the translation btw Brownie

Hmmm... fascinating. I wonder if it's too early to try and write something up for the Effect.

The only other thing thats been worked out for it is Fake Band which could be the Glass Helmets but the band is real IG, so that makes that seem a little far fetched

But Foundations actually could make sense because a if your right and that's the only word that popped out that is something. Also using the cryptograph would be a good way for WB to get the message out to people without it alerting any Tag sensors. Finally foundations would make sense as the title of the email because it would be a foundation for a case against Tag, to say hey why isn't Chuia on your third quarter reports?

have we run any of the other mashes of words(that we thought were anagrams) through the cryptograph?

Nice job on the translation btw Cosmo
