saw him this morning, he served me my non-fat latte and scone, i asked him if he knew anything about Cloverfield, he said he did some background talent work, proceeded to hand me his zed card and rambled about his unsuccessful 30 year acting career, then took 50% off my meal, mistaking me for some producer... i focking hate LA

LMAO...funny because it's true.
Still have no idea why the face is pixilated in the trailer and not in the TV spot...he doesn't look like anyone immediately recognizable.
Anyhow, I kind of like the music...it adds some emotion to the spot. Its just filler for the commercial, there won't be any music in the film if it's to stay true to the handycam format.

I also noticed that in the original trailer. Doesn't look like it's important though. Camera cutting effects.

I think it's down to this movie being a work in progress, even now.

The music is from the movie Sunshine.
By George, I think he's got it!

Seems odd to promote one movie with a different movie's soundtrack, but they do sound like a match.
I went back and noticed that Jamie lists Sunshine as one of her fave movies on her Myspace page.
Good call opencws...I think the music really sucks...it's good for developing suspense in a british zombie or wacky scifi flick, but not this movie...it kind of detracts from the unedited camcorder feel..they should just stick with the audio track from the tape...
and I don't mean to start the whole "they are infectees and not zombies" argument...

I guess what i dont like about the music is pretty simple.
ITS TOO EMOTIONAL/HAPPY SOUNDING. Plus it ends awkwardly.

That's exactly what I've been thinking.
The WIP aspect would also explain why some scenes and other things seem to change every time we see some new clip.

Rewatching/relistening... They should've gone with X-Ray Dog's "Dark Empire 2.0 (remix)" track. Overused, yeah, but then again, it's just great trailer music. XD
