The TV Spots are okay, seeing as how they're geared towards all the people that haven't been in the viral game, but the music in the second spot is rediculously horrible.

"WHAT THE FUCKING HELL HAPPENED TO THE GOD DAMN ROAR. hear it at 19-21 seconds on the video. OMG. It sounds like Homer Simpson yawning then a huge bad ass monster."

Well, keep in mind this is only a 30 sec spot. No time for the full roar from a marketing stand-point. And besides, despite how much I hate the Simpsons, maybe a Homer sounding monster might be a good thing for them with the Simpsons movie now on DVD, lol.

Good thread topic. A way to discuss all three ad's at once without having to look for different topics on the board.

I agree with you for the most part...although I don't see anything wrong with the explosion, just adding more effects, it will probably look really good on the big screen.

Commercial #1 is definitely about the monster and attack along with the ensuing chaos and tease about the bite and gross aftermath (exploding Marlena?).

Commercial #2 is about the group of 6 and their struggle to survive, not so much about the monster, along with the music, it seems to humanize Rob and his crew and give the viewer something to care about.

Commercial #3 is more like #1, but just a tease of things to come I suppose.

I also think each is going after a slightly different demographic...for example, I like #1, while my wife (who isn't into this movie at all), thinks #1 is scary and won't see the movie, but after I had her watch #2, which she liked much better then #1, she is now thinking she'll go and see the movie with me.

Also, its cool to view them on YouTube, but its really cool when they come on TV and you're not expecting it...I live in the L.A. area and #1 came on 3 times last night between 10p-11:30p on Fox 11 (News from 10-11 and The Simpsons)...the first time, I jumped up off the couch and shouted and woke up my wife who was sleeping on our other couch and scared the shit out of her...man was she pissed at me for the rest of the night! Surprised

Explosion looks great, and i can almost guarantee you the presence of smaller monsters. There's too much evidence to suggest that they're will be, as opposed to not.

I agree about the small monsters....so many signs pointing to their existence. "We have a bite" could really only mean a smaller creature. Something tells me if someone got bit by MGP himself, there wouldn't be any wounds left to treat. I suppose it could be getting bit by an infected human, but what would have infected the first human in the first place then?
