If the movie's creator says that the monster is original...I'm probably gonna go with that...rather than give any credence to the ravings of a madman.

In addition to that, someone reported that on the set of Cloverfield, there was a 3-toed dinosaur-like foot-print, about as long as a bus. Sounds too much like Zilla to be passed off as coincidence. .

Btw, Zilla isn't all that different, (giant destructive lizard) not too mention there is no way they would make a sequel to that crappy movie and not call it godzilla. I understand you may be very bitter about that awful film with Matthew Broderick, understandable, but be serious, there is no way they would ruin this movie with that garbage.

Just a lurker posting his thoughts. Smile

It's just a fantheory that doesn't have any ground for a few simple reasons.

1: The monster attacks NYC with a purpose. Zilla was a nester.
2: NONE of the original characters are in this. Unless Rob's name is Tetulopous...Oh wait! It's Hawksomething. Not to mention a lot of storystuff not matching up (like with the Tangruato drilling company or Slusho).
3: I don't recall Zilla having scales that spawn tiny little freaks when dropped on the ground...
4: Now this is the hard stuff. Toho wants NOTHING to do with Zilla anymore. They consider it a raping off Godzilla, and they said they never wanted to give off their creation to any American studio ever again (though someone of the caliber Peter Jackson might be able to convince them). So WHY would they want to put Zilla back in the centre of attention? It just doesn't make any sense. Confused

5: Sony/Tristar created Zilla. I SEVERELY doubt that they would just hand over the rights and creature design to a different studio. And imagine the legal clusterfuck if Sony did give over the rights without Toho's permission, or that those three would work together....If that was the case, this movie would have been stuck in development hell a long time ago as the 3 studios fought it out to settle on a compromise.
6: Lastly, all the ARG signs are pointing to a creature that looks like multiple sea animals stuck together, or at least has something to do with the ocean life. Zilla was a mutated iguana.

I understand if you liked Zilla. I did too (wrong name for that movie and the creature, but otherwise not a bad giant monster flick if you shut out all the Godzilla references), but hoping for it and grasping for straws won't make it true. And yes, you're grasping at straws. Some Youtubers say that it's obviously Zilla? Someone on Google's video section said it was the entire Manhattan island that was some giant creature and awakening. Just because other people say it doesn't make it true.

There is a very, VERY small chance it's Zilla (10% or so), but it's better to let you go. I would hate for you to get so hyped for another Zilla movie, only then to be massively disappointed when you find out it isn't. You understand that, don't you?
