I'm pretty sure it's going to be some kind of chimera.
It won't be identifyable on it's own, but will contain many familiar animal attributes.

As far as leaks go, I expect we'll get some kind of clear shot (either from the movie or a behind the scenes pic/maquette) before the end of the year...
...and no later than the first week of Jan.

So, back to the subject, How long before opening night will the monster be revelead in photos/video? (and not useless clues about jumbo slushies?)

Thanks for bringing it back onto topic. I was beginning to wonder of you would maintain hijacking your own thread.

I can't say how long. I don't think anyone can. But if you have to persist that there WILL be pictures, I agree with konamouse. It'll most likely have to be in January.

I hope we don't see pics. in fact I hope we dont even really see it in the film. If it is low budget the CG may look like crap

Thankfully, given that the entire movie is shot from the perspective of the characters' camera, we aren't very likely to see any of those uber dramatic sweeping upward shots of the full monster. I sincerely, sincerely doubt that we will. We'll probably never see it in full -- but I wouldn't be surprised if they let us have a real nice glimpse as the final shot before the credits roll.

I don't think we'll see it before the 18th unless it's leaked somehow.

I don't think there's gonna be a novel, comic book, soundtrack or movie magazine about Cloverfield that hits the stores two or three weeks before the movie.

They kept New Godzilla's look a secret all through filming and post-production, but sure enough, about a month before it came out... Comic books, Doritos commercials and action figures everywhere.

Don't think there's gonna be a big media blitz other than the trailers, TV spots and the occasional interview between now and the release.

But, will a pic of the monster get leaked early? Oh yeah.

Didn't one of the directors just say in an interview that there would be a full-shot of it? Not sure where, but I'm pretty sure I read it.

I think this guesstimate is spot on.

And I do believe it will be intentional.

I love that pic. I smile every time someone posts it. Which is about 4 times a day lately.

It's beautiful, i'll admit it. Would've been a fantastic MGP.

Beautiful drawing indeed.

Too bad the artist didn't sign it.

Would have saved a whole school of Trout. Very Happy

we wont see the monster until the movie.

remember that we are supposed to be viewing events as they happen at the moment leading up to the date. and the world doesnt know about the monster until it pwns them in the face
