tried reversing the audio

Hi guys, I tried reversing the audio on the "3 2 1 go" video but the words still sounded like nonsense, so I don't think it is back-masked. The words could be a foreign language I suppose but I don't recognise it. It sounds a bit like Kate Bush to me...

(I used http://wmato.com/ to get the audio in .mp3,
http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html to convert to .WAV
and then http://www.talkbackwards.com/ to reverse it)

I got the e-mail as well! I can't believe that there are already two pages of stuff going on here! Awesome!

While I can't see anything in the way of clues in the videos, I sure like the music! Especially the steam man video. Anyway, gonna send an e-mail and hop on into this one!

Interesting, I got an e-mail too. Sent me the take me down video though. I suck at these things though, so I'm scratching my head in wonder about what I'm supposed to be doing.

Yeah, the upside-down text doesn't bother me too much. I do most of this on my phone, so all I have to do is turn it upside-down, and voila! The code is broken. Haha.

So I emailed him asked what he saw when he looks around, and he replied with...

Quote:
I see paintings, wonderful paintings.

Which automatically makes me think, "LOUVRE!!" However, there are many many museums in Paris, and the Louvre isn't, if I'm not mistaken, even close to 20 miles from the Eiffel Tower, like he said he currently is. I'm almost sure it's less than 5 miles between the two.

So, museums 20 miles from the Eiffel Tower..?

First time poster, long time follower. I've been trading e-mails with the character for the past few minutes, and this is what I've been able to decipher. If a more trusted member wants me to forward for proof, I have no issue.

1) We have to catch him 12 times for him to turn himself in.

2) Some of these things will have time limits, some will not.

Maybe we have to hurry and figure these things out?

I wondered if, instead of the Louvre, he was at the Palace of Versaille. In a straight line (according to Google maps), that's only about 9 miles though Confused

This is a group effort, and if you have information you should post it. It's good form.

He just wrote back "Suddenly, my ear is ringing."
You think he's in a cathedral with bells? I'm searching google earth for a famous bell tower 20 miles away from the Eiffel tower.

Or he could be at Versailles, tho that"s less than 20 miles...

EDIT
Scratch the bell idea....he just wrote back saying there are no bells where he is.

Perhaps the singular 'ear' is significant. a Van Gogh reference?

Kona Mouse: I was thinking Marie as well. The Bastille is too close, and I looked for the youtube building around Versailles but couldn't see it. What else is relevant to Marie or the French Revolution?

That makes me think of Marie Antoinette who "lost her head" during the French Revolution.

Van Gogh

I'm starting to think it's got to be connected to Van Gogh (Hope I'm not totally wrong!!) "something seems to have fallen off your head", "Suddenly my ear is ringing" and he sees art...

There's a Rue van Gogh in Paris, but it's still much too close.

van Gogh died in Auvers-sur-Oise, which seems to be about 16 miles from the Eiffel Tower (again using the straight-line measuring on Google Earth).

EDIT - Aha!! I've found the building in Auvers-sur-Oise that's in the last video. 49° 4'12.56"N 2°10'18.12"E if anyone wants to check on Google Earth.

I'm not much for interacting, so does someone want to let him know that we know where he is (or at least where he's talking about)?

I'm still learning a lot of the etiquette around these parts, so sorry if I didn't seem to follow form here last night. Anyways, I traded quite a few messages with our friend, so I figured I'd share some of the things I recieved I found fairly relevant. Someone mentioned the "my ear is ringing", so I'll omit that. When I first asked to be part of the game, I recieved this.

Quote:
Here's something for you. I must be found 12 times before I will turn myself in.

I followed up by asking if we had a time limit.

Quote:
Some will have limits, some can go on indefinitely.

Suddenly, my ear is ringing.

Now I don't know if this will help, but when we spoke, I did offer my name, and her offered one back.

Quote:
My name is... for now, you may call me Arman.

The last bit of information I found relevant came when I talked to him and asked about Paris.

Quote:
Always. Art is so beautiful, so calming.

Like I said, I'm learning since this is my first full fledged chance to really dive headfirst into a game, so I'm sorry if I was rude last night about things. Thanks!

Just sent him an email saying we believe him to be in Van Gogh's death place in Auvers sur Oise, coordinates 49° 4'12.56"N 2°10'18.12"E
