and to add to that, Toho would definitely want the word out on their "Big Green."

You people know nothing. You didn't even get what I was saying. I did not say that the monster is Godzilla. I said that the monster will be Godzilla-esq - probably at least part reptillian, possibly combined with some other sea creature or creatures. I never said that it was Godzilla, just a Godzilla-like creature.

While I don't think it will be a Godzilla movie (Toho is keeping the franchise firmly between it's buttchecks after the 8 debacle) I would like a repilian aproach.

Well, it's coming from the water, and it can walk on land. That defines something of reptilian nature.

Or amphibian. Don't forget the giant frog theory.

See, and I thought we were ABOVE the idiots at the IMDB boards (admit it, it's true) that we WEREN'T posting Godzilla/Voltron/giant lion/Power Ranger/Lost spinoff/Alias spinoff/Cthulhu/interior crocodile alligator/resurrected Marlon Brando/Britney Spears/giant flatfish absurdist theories that have absolutely no basis. I'm going to join the herd - IT'S NOT F---ING GODZILLA! DEAL WITH IT!!!!

The funniest thing would be , What if it turned out to be a Godzilla movie. Various members of Unfiction, in theaters all across the world would have their heads explode on January 18th.
PS - and no, im not saying it is, God knows i dont think it is

Well, ya see, there are a lot of lonely not quite normal kids out there who are absolutely in love with Godzilla. They see this trailer, and they just hope and hope and hope they get to see Godzilla. If they do, it's like a geekgasm to them. So, see nothing in their lives seems exciting or hopeful, they see this trailer and make a list of all the reasons why it COULD be Godzilla, then totally convince themselves that it IS Godzilla, just so they have something to obsess completely over and forget about their sorry excuse for lives.

um... he's right. people obviously arent listening to what he's saying...
as soon as you guys see "Godzilla" in a thread you guys go crazy screaming "ITS NOT F---ING GODZILLA!"...
I believe you... it's not godzilla... but
Daffy Duck is a cartoon duck.
True, its not Donald Duck, and he looks nothing like donald, but he's still a duck and still a cartoon.
there's nothing wrong with saying it will probably have a lot of features similar to Godzilla... he was bad ass (maybe not bad-ass looking, but those fins and that plasma-breathe was cool)
maybe MGP is our daffy... its Donald but more raw and violent thats not as fun loving and funny sounding. (i hope you guys understand the disney-looney relation)

So you're saying that this guy's argument is "Godzilla is a giant monster, so maybe MGP is a more intense and violent giant monster!"
We already know all of this.

Yes, but a giant bat/centepide/whale monster is not anything close to Godzilla.
Where as a giant monsterous lizard/dinosaur-type monster would be comparable.
Since the Original Godzilla looks so cheesey, JJ's wont look anything like him, but i dont think it'll be a giant bug, or a three headed dragon, or a giant whale either.
the fact is we dont know what MGP looks like, and there is no evidence detailing what he looks like. we're studying 15 frames of a glimpse of what could be MGP between a building, and you want to shoot down ideas? give me a break...

I'll happily shoot down the giant lizard idea because that's not original, it's already been done.

have been immediately tagged as trout and
I would be in danger of being kicked out
altogether. Why are y'all such big
gzilla fans? why can't MGP be original?????????

/googles giant flatfish
Oh my...
o.o
So the city will be destroyed by a retarted flatfish flopping around out of hte water? While that is the dumbest thing ever, I think I would still go to the movie. I mean, it would be better than if it was a googly eyed flatworm, right?
