Its more into Hollywood Versus NY. Though, its a big coincedence that I am Legend and Cloverfield release dates were close to each other and the film's setting are both situated in NY.

New York is being destroyed because it's iconic, there's no hidden motive here. I'm a New Yorker and i'm not gonna cry because New York is being knocked down again. These are probably the same people who believe the government is run by lizards.

yeh, not that big of a coincidence. I'd say 3 out of 4 movies are set in NY. Plus, this doesn't really prove anything, or lead to anymore clues.. so. yeh.
