 		They (ABC) do call it a "vital backstory," so I think you're on to something. That was the tough part with TLE, they didn't really link it to the show THAT much, and they barely even touched the flight itself. So this one will give us something true to the canon of the show (though I'm still hoping for Rachel Blake to show up on the actual series).

 		ok, so, using spoiler tags and answering to the " is the game a flashback" comment...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
according to some very-into-detail-people (not hackers so far) the day that Sam was watching the news (on the first video of the find815 site) you could see on the down part of the screen this running data on dowjones and other banks....

someone noticed and search the day for that exact data, only one came up, duh

Jan, 13th, 2006!!!

so, it is past, like a year ago, but future for our losties, who apparently are about to be hit with a tsunami!!!

codes?
So is anyone on here tracking the billboards as they are being posted? I hear that the Portland billboard has some secretish message in Korean, the Tustin one has been found but we haven't decyphered any coded message yet. I heard rumors of Ames being located but not seen a pic yet. Anyone else here working on this that we can put our heads together?

Tustin's billboard says:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
discover the mysteries of Berlin


But Oceanic doesn't fly to that destination so what other mysteries are welooking for with that city?!?

Maybe not a 'flashback' in the sense that we know them from the show, but I defintely think this is taking place in the past and we are going to learn more about what happene to the plane (maybe find out if Oceanic's official statement that the plane was found is actually a cover up?)


if it is a flashback, it would make sense, considering the current events on the Island. Also, didn't Naomi and Cooper say that the search for the plane was already abandoned? Well, the news report in Find815 said that the search was going to be abandoned...

 		Plane crashed in Sep 2004.
Each season has been 1 month for the Lost characters.
Currently it is Dec 2004 for them.

I'd speculate more but that damn find815.com site won't load anything for me but a black page.

we need actual PICTURES of these billboards. we cannot rely on what you, or others say. Tell these people who are looking for these billboards to guy buy a camera from CVS or something. They sell disposable digital Cameras for like $20.

Spoiler-tagging aside, the ticker says that the DOW is at 8424.25. The DOW has not been that low since mid-2003 (ref). NASDAQ wasn't near 2300 at that time; it did hit 2316 (on the way up and down) a few times in 2006 (ref). Why pick Jan 13 in particular? S&P 500 wasn't at 1600 at that time, though (or any time in 2006). I'm not sure whether it could have hit 1600 mid-day (though it seems improbable), but the DOW certainly couldn't have hit 8400 mid-of-any-day in 2006. Either I am missing something, or their market indices are just wrong and we shouldn't attempt to derive dates from them, or the future changed drastically in Lost universe. Either way, Jan 13 seems no more or less likely from the market data to me than any other day.

There are pictures- I'm just a little busy to cut and paste everything for you- Speaker has the two available so far up at Evil Pupet Masters- Ames has been talked about but they didn't have a picture yet so far as I know so only Portland and Tustin are confirmed....

we have Tustin to Berlin and Portland to Seoul- I'm playing with an anagram engine right now- out of Tustin/ Berlin I get Isn't Turbine among other things- might be nothing but maybe it will be a start of an idea...
