Some more new emails tonight, including another 'gibberish' email that probably contains something else:

I see a space in the end. Probably it's part of the randomness... but it's really funny because after the space it reads GTFU!

Apparently, it's been solved here by substituting A=1, B=2, C=3, F=6. The latitude comes from a previous e-mail from "Sender" (likely the same person/entity as "unknown" in this case).

People on DarkUFO found two strange images:
http://www.find815.com/steg/stegosaurus.jpg
http://www.find815.com/steg/stegosaurus.png
The current thinking seems to be that if they (or one of them) are not stegged, then maybe they are pointing to some other image being stegged. A password might have something to do with Carpe Diem. The original image is a different size and different weight.

That's just weird.

So this dude posted in the comments on an OOG blog, which led to the decoding of a message that led back to the IG website, which now contains a possibly stegged image. If it wasn't for the stegasaurus image being hosted on find815.com, I'd say this was a gamejack...

He was posting that on Lostpedia forums too, and people were, like "Go away, spammer." I guess somebody finally decided to take him up on it.

At this point I would rather think that this guy hacked their server and either linked to stuff that was already there or uploaded these things there, or found these links in the flash, or that he's a gone astray PM, or pretty much anything other than thinking that they actually meant to release this info this way. 'Cause that would be incredibly, incredibly dumb.

Remember the webmaster of find815.com forgot to deny directory listing for a while when the game began , many people were able to see many websites that were not intended to be seen then and if you're not a honest person you could've uploaded them on your own server , claimed to be IG , thrown a link to an "undiscovered" website in find815 and "confirmed" you're legit ... In my opinion this DarkUFO stuff is just a shameless try at a game jack , but it seems the impersonator forgot the game is just not playing on the level of stego (hell even an anagram would be major stuff here) which makes his attempt shine as a complete non sense .

The problem is - these images are hosted on find815.com. He could have found them, but he couldn't have uploaded them there. Steg in this game does seem entirely out of place, which makes this whole business even weirder. That same person also linked to this image. It's on the find815 server. But the website, baliholidayfun.com, is on a different server. I mean - hosted on a server different from find815.com and the other two game sites. Plus, the registration record is different too. I would think that baliholidayfun.com is a gamejack, but that does not explain what http://www.find815.com/bhf/index.html is doing there. So, this is all very strange, especially the steg.

You don't get it , the images and websites WERE THERE since the beginning and anybody who looked at the find815 site the first hours it was up could see them as well as others that appeared later in Sam's laptop browser , but what the guy/girl is doing is claiming this : http://www.baliholidayfun.com/ to be a legit new website and trying to confirm it's legitimacy by "hiding" a clue in it ... mainly links to the legitimate find815 that are already known to "insider" people (you may also call us hackers :p) but which are not published and therefore unknown to the main player .

ETA : Let me give you some simple examples :
http://www.find815.com/fop/index.html
http://www.find815.com/sss/index.html

... and I'm not IG either Razz

well there's proof as to its authenticity - the longer it remains visible on find815.com, the more we can trust it as legitimate. Certainly the PMs would remove the folder it were an attempted gamejack. Seems kind of a fruitless gamejack strategy, locating your code on official servers... Confused

thebruce : look at my post above , I can give you many hidden folders there , but I don't do so because I don't want to spoil others fun and certainly I don't make a fake website registered on January 09 when both legit websites were registered on OCTOBER 29/30 and show stuff that is not supposed to be seen yet .

The folders are important it's where sam's laptob browser websites come from ... yes they can change the whole stuff but you can't rely on them not doing so as a proof of anything .

ETA : If this is IG though , then it would be the dumbest move ever seen in ARG or Time Wasters history as someone said .

Look, if it's a gamejack, then the folder will be (or should be) removed soon. If not, then it's either real, or the PMs don't care.
I'm saying at this point I believe it's legitimate. The chat user may not be, but the site, at this point, does seem legitmate. And yes I realize that it is of the same format as the sites on the laptop.
I do hope that the PMs know about this folder, and remove it if it is fake.

To tell you the truth I think they don't care , I already found emails to real world companies and links to websites they don't own in this game and I posted about them in a spoiler thread I maintain in another forum ... they don't seem they cared other than sending us a "please don't hack us because we put more time in trying to stop you than time developing the game" note ... and I don't care either if this is the way they're going I'll just stop playing whatever little I play and just wait for the videos to pop up in youtube .

ETA : BTW http://www.findoutpedia.com/ and http://www.slaveshipsearch.com/ are NOW working and they're in find815 so legit and yeah I'm not IG as I said Razz

I've noticed that www.baliholidayfun.com is hosted on 64.202.189.170 and is merely a frame wrapper which contains the real find815 image directory.

Coincidentally, 64.202.189.170 used to host http://garytroupbooks.com -- which was merely a frame wrapper containing the real ingame content from www.garytroup.net back during The LOST Experience game.

I'd say the same person is behind both.

Oh, I'm pretty sure I get it Wink

I understand that guy could have found it. But he couldn't have uploaded it there. Which, at this point, leaves us with the same question - what are these steg images doing there in the first place? Both you and I agree that they do seem very odd and out-of-place for this game thing, yes? So, I think both you and I would like to think it's a gamejack, but we can't overlook the fact that they ended up on that server somehow.

Oh, and, btw, I'm pretty sure that baliwhatever.com is a gamejack anyway, just because of the whois (points to catherwood's post).
