I think whats being forgotten is that this is a overhead shot. ill take another look at it, but so far, all of your illustrations have shown the monster lying on its side in an uncomfortable (or dead)position.

Through 17 pages of speculation i cant believe i havent seen anyone bring up FLIR yet. My father helped design the FLIR prototypes for Martin Marietta ( before it became Lockheed Martin ) back in the 80's. Though FLIR is usually shown in black and white , with white being the heat signatures, it can also be used with a color pattern, with the brighter the color meaning the hotter the object is. Yes, i do realize this implies it is a sonar image, but FLIR would make more sense in relation to the colors.

All the mention of things other than sonar can be readily addressed by the fact the images are NAMED sonar_#.jpg - just in case you weren't sure it was supposed to be sonar.

What if chuai is underwater and this is trying to tell randy and the others that it is an underwater station?

If the sonar shot is aerial, and the X and Y are changing, perhaps the "blip" is breaching while being pursued by whichever means that's supporting the device.

As for Son-Air... I was checking acronym ANO from the status bar in sonar_01, and came across "Air Navigation Order." The site The Air Navigation Order is definitely OOG; but refers to aircraft and sonar.

The limb is way out of reach. Rolling Eyes

Edit: Bad Engrish.

Ahhh, a new thought before bed...

We've received numbered images, 1 to 3:

sonar_1.jpg
sonar_2.jpg
star003.jpg (From the pseunmoisuf.pdf properties)

It's most likely pure coincidence, but there's always hope.

the thing is moving

We got two pictures from 'The Whistleblower'. They contain coordinates.

Sonar 1: X 191.343 Y 16.135
Sonar 2: X 243.125 Y 22.352

I think the two pictures give us the following:

While the object remains in the crosshair, the coordinates change.
We can not identify the object but we can say it is moving. The graphic below shows the movement on the X- and Y-axis

The increase in color from picture Sonar 1 to Sonar 2 could be increase/decrease in heat, or, could be movement in the Z-axis.

I know that this could be our monster moving.

Haven't read every post in this thread. Humor or trout me, if you will... I'm lazy.

It's the same image - everything's in the same place - but one is simply brighter than the other. So, if they're taken at different times or at different depths, it's a stationary object. My guess is that it's the submerged Chuai station, either as it's supposed to be (a fully operational submerged platform) or what remains of it on the ocean floor.

I think the X/Y coordinates are simply where the mouse is at the time of the screen grab.

But, call me crazy, but this is somewhat of a dandy litle applet they got. It looks like a real application, something written in Java perhaps (the tabs aren't the standard Windows tabs), and otherwise it looks like a real functional application.

If it is Java, is it conceivable that this application be accessible ONLINE?

What's got me is the term "Son-Air". My guess would be the equivalent of a sonar flyover, as if taken from an airplane or helicopter.

And the colors don't make sense unless it's both sonar and heat signature; the gradient at the bottom right indicates what I assume is a depth scale, and there's no shade of red in that anywhere.

Also, the numerical repesentations don't make sense either. If they're intervals of 500 that imply distance, why is the first step only 100? Shouldn't it be 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 (or 100, 200, 300 and 400) if they're all equidistant?

Anyone ever see sonars like this anywhere else?

that is possible if letting the sonar apparatus into the water.

What's with the "Occ. Scale. ERR. 163"?
