Hmm, that could be a problem. i know that the lock is held in place by two balls on the side of the lock, and there are little divots in the bottom half of the Isis that the balls fit into.

The only thing i can think of is that maybe the lock/make is in backwards. you have to make sure that the hole near the edge of the lock/maze is lined up with the placentas on the Isis.

maze won't stay down

I had the same problem when relocking mine...it appeared as though the grooves that the bb's locked in were worn from me constantly trying to open it. Below is my solution

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
All you have to do is put the 3rd bearing in the magnet, and screw it together with the plunger side down. Then as you are screwing it in push down on the plunger to lower the maze. It will lock about 1 cm from all the way closed, then follow the steps to get the ball back in the center of the maze and push the plunger down. Then screw it the rest of the way in.

Isis reset

It would be much easier to put the 3rd bb in the center of the maze and screw the pieces together plunger-side up.

Also, by doing it your way, you run the risk of the Isis locking with the placentas not lined up, and if that happens with the 3rd bb on the magnet you will not be able to re-open it.

Isis requires brute force?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
First off, was surprised by how hard you have to hit the isis to get the 3rd ball to drop.

Now I've managed to get to the plunger halfway stage, am swirling the isis while upside down and pushing the plunger slightly in and out.. got it so the balls no longer move, and the plunger pushes in a TINY amount (3mm?) if I push as hard as I can--how hard do I need to push? How far does it go in--as deep as it went originally, or less so?

My hands are killing me and I'm beginning to hate this thing for having such a needlessly strong spring under the plunger that makes me feel like it was built by meatheads. (Jeweler's point of view, natch.)[/spoiler]

At last!

If you don't have brawn, you must use brain:

This helped a LOT with the endless plunger pushing. Finally got it open now. (thx MeCon!)

 i cant push hard ebough
how hard must u push the plunger after getting all palls in place

Confused ok so far ive got the third ball in place. then i keep the plunger pushed and flip it over the swirl and the balls fall in place. I loosen the plunger a little but i almost brake my thumb trying to push it all the way.

is it jammed?
im i missing something?

while the Isis is upside down, you have wait for the sound inside to stop. then the plunger should push in fairly easily and you will hear a click

first of all, are you sure that the 3rd bb is in place? does the plunger go in only a little bit?
you dont have to ease up too much, just enough so you can hear the other bbs rolling around inside. swirl them around and once they stop making noise, push in on the plunger, it should go in all the way.

Got mine at 12.45pm today opened it on my own without any help at 3.28pm what a load of rubbish.

I am thinking of reporting the makers to trading Standards.
