It actually looks quite similar to a wash unit. During the process of extraction for certain petro-chemicals and compounds, different chemicals, such as benzine, are used in the process. These "washers" are used to break down and remove some of the more volatile and harmful by-products, as well as move them to a waste management facility in the plant or platform.
