Lets just hope that Cloverfield doesn't suck as much as TBWP did.

It probably will, sadly, January isn't known for high quality films. When Blair Witch came out I was pretty excited about it, until I saw it.

As long as we SEE the monster [which we will] and they don't fight about a damn map for about 20 minutes- it's already better than TBWP.

Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but for christmas sake, this is MGP we're talking about!

I think this was made before Cloverfield, it's already out in Spain I think.
British remake coming this year according to imdb.

edit: this is the one you want!

This might actually be an Asylum film worth watching, if the actors aren't terrible.

I mean, they don't need a huge budget for special effects, they can just mess up the screen.

I really liked that shot of the tentacle after the plane flew past.

They plan on building a time machine and releasing it in the past.

They only make these movies for two reasons:

1. To confuse people who think their movie is the one that's copied, thus getting some "overflow sales".

2. To sell these pieces of crap to the Sci-Fi channel. It's cheaper to buy a Cloverfield knock-off for syndication broadcast, than to actually buy Cloverfield.

That being said, I love these things. I really dig cheesy crappy Sci-Fi and Horror movies. They can't have good acting or a good story, so they make up for it with tons of gratuitous nudity and gore!
