A cop responded to an accident, and the driver of one car was dead. The man that killed him was his brother, the brother was upset but not crying. The cop told him it was an accident, and the man wasnt that upset, he showld little signs of remorse. The cop knows the family(its a small town) and he drives the son home to be with his family. The conversation went something like this:
"hey ma, dad"
"Are you alright? You look like hell." The mother sees the cop. "What did you do?"
"No mom, im not alright, i got into an accident" The man pauses. "I hit (brother's name)"
"What hospital is he at, is he ok?"
"No hes not alright, hes dead."
"Oh my God." Shocked look on the mothers face.
"I killed him ma, iim so sorry."
The mother begins to cry, she cries hysterically for what feels, to the cop, like forever. He needs to get back and start the report and such, but then the son stands and says something the cop will never forget. Something so inconsiderate, so angry almost, so insincere, but at the same time, so true and so real. The son says
"Ma what are you gonna do" and leaves the room. The mother does not cry again until the closed casket wake.

Um, what the hell is this? Moderators, please do your duty.

Note the moral of the story:

I'm guessing it will suck. I mean, let's face it... The acting in the preview is truly not good.

But I think it will be a great, fun, exciting movie anyways!

If you expect the movie to suck...then why the hell are you here. Confused
Take your negative bullshit somewhere else.

Because I'm not afraid of facing the facts about something as silly as a movie.

Face the facts, buddy:
1. Small budget.
2. Young, relatively inexperienced cast.
3. January release date.

It's a movie. Don't get all upset. Learn to respect other's opinions. This is why Americans are regarded as being a bunch of bigots. Half of us are too insecure to politely accept the opinions of others.

Once again... It's a movie.

And I said it would be fun. But it's no "Crash." And the acting is not all that great.

That's all I said.

But no matter what, it will definitely be fun. But in this case, it's very much the journey that counts. This is the most fun we'll have with a movie in a long time.

Oh and by the way, I am absolutely not a troll.

I agreed with you until you said "it's no Crash."
Crash was nothing but a well done knock-off. I will enjoy cloverfield more than crash simply for the reason that it will be 100x more original.

What are you talking about? Perhaps we just like using the trout tag for fun?

Oops, I meant Sophia Coppola. She was awful in the Godfather III. But her awful script didn't help much, either.

If it sucks then I might want to drink before I go see it. And based on the hype and JJ's success record, minus What about Brian, never really got inot that one, Cloverfield won't suck. If the ending is the same as those call sheets then it will have a shitacular ending, but the movie itself might be good.

Anyways, what are the chances that this movie is as bad a Gigli? or Jessica Simpson's new one.

As of right now, Cloverfield is second on my list of movies to see. First is Juno.

Are you kidding me? He was telling a joke.

I admit it, I lost track of who was bashing Cloverfield before it's even released. Splitting the topic thread across multiple pages made it easy for me to shoot my mouth off at the wrong poster. Still, the profile speaks for itself.

Hah, the sig is a quote from a comedian who stated that adding this sentence to the end of any story automatically makes it interesting.

I've changed my avatar, but only because I grew tired of my old one.

I really don't know what's wrong with my username. It's same as my gamertag and really doesn't reflect who I am as a person. I don't explore toilets and I can assume you don't either.

And as stated earlier, the I'll destroy New York post was a joke.

I'm into this ARG/ARE, I'm not about to bash it.

Thank you and good night.

However, many people loved "The Virgin Suicides" and "Marie Antoinette". Sofia makes films that almost seem more like independent ones - very artful in presentation.

The more I see of the movie via trailers, teasers, and TV spots, the more I fear really bad acting will kill a potentially awesome movie.

Hmm...let's see. I've ridden the hype wave several times before.

1) Godzilla (the Tristar version). Lots of buildup, but the movie wasn't a Godzilla movie. Was really disappointed, but have mellowed on it over time. Learned the hard way not to buy into tons of hype.

2) Blair Witch. Again lots of hype, but this time I knew what I was getting into. I expected a low budget movie with more chills than scares, and that's what I got.

3) Star Wars Ep 1: OMG it's a new Star Wars! Camped out in line to get tickets, and had more fun with the fans than I did at the movie. Didn't camp out for the others.

So, what's the point? Enjoy the hype, but keep your expectations low. This movie won't change the world, and there's a possibility the public won't like it. People were disappointed with the movies I listed above, and they had HUGE hype. Still, each was a fun experience leading up to it, and I still watch them today with fond memories.

If Cloverfield sucks, it won't be anymore of a letdown than the Tristar Godzilla was for me, and time has taught me not to let the hype machine ruin the experience.

Can we chalk up your hypersensitivity to overliquidation on New Year's Eve? Think of it as a parable. Wink

I will bill Bad Robot/Paramount for 6 months of my life, then delete Cloverfieldclues.com from my homepage(sorry Dennis). Then wait for The Dark Night.
