Wrong. IMO, Lost was pretty bad. "OMG ISLAND, MONSTER, DHARMA AND CONFUSING PEOPLE LOL", Lost in a nutshell.

10 brownies to who knows what the closed casket wake represents.

I'd say it represents the finality of death, but that's too easy. From context, though, I'd say it represent an accident in which one brother was not wearing his seat belt and the other was*. Wink

honostly I won't be that mad because I'm having a good time finding clues and trying to uncover details. Judging by the comercial its gonna be good. We're not talking like academy award or anything but it will still be entertaining nom the less

Okay. I've been reading this messageboard avidly for awhile, showing my friends all the clues, and generally letting friends in on this. I've invested a relatively good amount of time into this movie -- and this is what I have to say:

If the movie sucks, I'll be fine.

Look, the entertainment I have gleaned from the trailer, from the photos on the official website, from the second trailer, the Slusho website, the Tagruato website, Jamie and Teddy, and the rest of the stuff, is enough in and of itself.

For all I care, they could literally show a giant steaming turd on screen for two hours and I would STILL feel like I got my money's worth.

How many endless hours of engagement, entertainment, and intrigued distraction have you gotten out of this advertising campaign? How much would you have paid for this experience up front?

My bet is that if you're honest, the cost you'd have named months ago, had someone come up to you and told you they could give you the experience you've gotten so far, would more than cover the cost of one movie ticket.

I'll be honest. If the movie sucks, I'll be disappointed. The flip to that is, of course, that if the movie is good I may burst a blood vessel in awe of the sheer awesomeness of it all. But in the end, I'm satisfied where I am now.

Come 1-18, I'm going to get a group of friends together, get f*cked up, and have a good time at the movies, whether it's by watching a deliciously horrible monster flick, watching one of the most innovative movie experiences of our generation, or anything in between.

this wouldn't be the first time a movie was hyped-up and ended up sucking total ass. so if it does suck, i will be like. "well, Tthat sucked. anyone wanna go to applebees?"

Okay, so not everything JJ makes is entertainment gold, but you have to admit, he knows how to make something ominous and/or mysterious. And I don't care what anyone says, I love Lost. Smile But that's just me.

Upon further consideration, I'd like to add to my previous statement...

If it sucks, well...

I better swallow.

Lost was great during the first season, after that though...

Anywho, J.J. Abrams has a fair amount of talent, I'll admit, but the fact is he uses "mystery" and "atmosphere" to get more attention than he deserves. A brilliant strategy, he's smart, I'll give him that, but I think he's kinda overrated. The only reason this movie has my interest is because it's a giant monster movie.

I'll post here as to not clutter the boards with more ideals.

To be totally honest, I'm getting kinda nervous for CloverField. I just got done watching the discussion and I agree with them. This movie started way to late on the advertising and there hardly isn't any advertising done. I don't know if JJ just wanted to make a movie for the sake of making one, because for someone to say they wanted to make a Monster Movie for America. Limiting the hype machine is NOT a good thing to do. The masses don't know shit about the movie from the trailers. Hell if I hadn't of been on here I would think the same thing when I say the trailer on TV..Wtf? Ya know?

I'm going to see it, but I think JJ phailed at trying to make it Americas monster. To make it Americas...you have to let America in. A couple hundred thousand fan boys on other forums like this isn't enough to make a dent. Not only that, HollyWood its self is not excited about the movie.

I dunno. I feel theres going to be an epic fail when CF comes out its first week. Not because of bad production, but not getting the word out.

I also heard that alot of the people in the movie don't even know what some of its about. JJ has keep this so secret from so many that hes lost some of his staff.

/End Rant/End Worriness about move.
